Story
Meet Oreo! This cute little fluffball (along with his Pomeranian pals) was rescued by our team and our neighbors after being dumped a block away from our facility. He was taken to San Diego County Animal Services to undergo his legal stray hold prior to being transferred back into our care. Oreo is as outgoing as most pups are, with plenty of energy! While he does have his energetic puppy moments, he is also very laidback for a puppy and will gladly focus on playing with a toy/chew or enjoy relaxing with his friends! Check out Oreo and the Pomeranian's rescue story here: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid0xrBv6ELHxosXqRgiyArkfonwYEfvT7tKhUMeJUiZKDyPXJysouPF3rcpfj8bYt92l Important Health Info: Oreo has cryptorchidism, meaning one of his testicles did not descend and is thought to be somewhere in his abdomen. He completed an ultrasound to locate the undescended testicle. He was scheduled to have this removed and was scheduled for exploratory surgery. Unfortunately, the undescended testicle was not located after a thorough search of the abdomen. It is likely that what appeared to be the undescended testicle in the ultrasound was just fatty tissue causing interference in the results. Our vet believes the undescended testicle may not exist or the testicle was previously removed but not realized by the shelter partner vet who performed his neuter. That said, we cannot say he is medically cleared as an overall precaution, even if the likelihood of still having the undescended testicle is low. Story
Meet Simba! This spunky boy was rescued by a caring community member after he darted across the road and was almost hit by a car. After safely delivering Simba to us, we transferred him to the San Diego County Department of Animal Services for his stray hold prior to his transfer back at our rescue. Simba is active, vocal (what Pom isn't?!), has an adorable lion cut, and is ready to be the center of someone's universe! Hold him, pet him, kiss him, squeeze him! Simba wants all your love and affection and is ready to rule over your heart! Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.
