Story
Beso is a 5 year old and 8-pound Spaniel/Pomeranian mix. Her previous owner, who she had lived with her entire life, could no longer care for her and made the difficult decision to surrender her to Shelter Hope. Beso is a smart, sweet, and communicative little girl. As she continues to warm up, she's beginning to show her enthusiastic, affectionate personality. She's curious about the world around her but also carries a more mature, laid-back energy. She's perfectly content spending long stretches curled up in a cozy bed, just relaxing and enjoying her space. Being suddenly taken from the only home she had ever known has been an understandably hard adjustment for her, and she is still learning to trust new people and feel secure in new environments. Because of this, she can be protective of herself when she feels scared, but her loving side shines through with patience and understanding. She would do best in a calm, adult-only home with no other dogs or children. If you’re looking for a smart, low-key companion who will form a deep, loyal bond, Beso could be is your gal! Beso is spayed and ready to find her forever home. ---- Looking to Adopt? Step 1) Apply Online Submit a rescue questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Story
Prince Leo is a 2-year-old, 18-pound Pom mix who is ready for his second chance. He was found as a stray in Bakersfield with three other dogs. Sadly, this area has become a common dumping ground for unwanted dogs. A good samaritan found them, trapped them, and reached out to us for help. Shelter Hope took in all four. Prince Leo is a nervous boy around humans, but he is very gentle and sweet. Once he feels at ease, he’ll come forward to sniff you or accept treats. His personality truly shines around other dogs, where he feels most confident, and he can become anxious if left alone without them. He loves exploring, relaxing in his bed, and following around his doggie friends. Before coming to us, he spent over a year in a home and is still slowly coming out of his shell. Prince Leo is fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has been through a lot, and we know there is a home out there for him that will give him the love, time, and patience he deserves. ------- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire!
