Story
Meet Brady! This sweet, sensitive soul is the perfect companion.
Brady was suddenly uprooted after his mom’s dementia made it impossible for her to keep caring for him. Thankfully, he made his way to us and has settled into his foster home like a total champ. Initially confused and scared, it's been a joy to watch his personality emerge now that he knows he's safe and loved.
Brady has found his new rhythm in his foster home and he loves it. He adores one-on-one attention, gentle head scratches, and full-body massages - as long as he's approached slowly and gently. A strong independent man, Brady is sensitive about his back and hind legs and doesn't love being picked up - though he's working on that and making progress!
Brady is devoted to his people and will happily follow you around like a sweet, fluffy shadow while you go about your day. If he feels his foster mom has been out of sight for too long, he'll climb the stairs just to check on her - ears perked and mission-focused like the tiny guardian he is. Brady's love language is calm walks and quiet time together, and slow, respectful approaches help him feel safe and comfortable.
Brady gets along beautifully with other dogs and is officially unbothered by the cat in his foster home. He adores going for walks and is also happy to spend time snuffling around in the yard. He's housebroken, doesn't mind staying home without his people, sleeps soundly through the night, and is a great car passenger. While he does well with older children who can understand and respect his needs, he'd do best in a home with younger ones.
Brady thrives on predictable structure and routine and loves a schedule. A master timekeeper, he'll politely but persistently announce when it’s time for breakfast, dinner, or a potty break, and he’s not shy about demanding attention once he decides it’s deserved. He's very good at letting his people know what he needs and does best with patient, observant humans who will listen to his cues and respect his boundaries.
Brady would love a home with a fenced-in yard that is generally quiet and calm. While he gets along well with other dogs, he's not very interested in rough play. He has a heart murmur which does not currently require any medication but will need to be monitored, and he's on prescription food for liver function.
This sensitive, communicative little man is patiently waiting for his forever family. Could it be you?
Brady is approximately 13 years old and 10 lbs.
