Story
Hi there… I’m Tuffy. A little 11 lb. cream-and-sable Pomeranian gentleman with a big heart and a soft spot for quiet, cozy homes. I may be 14 years old, but don’t let that fool you—I still have pep in my step and I love a good walk. If you grab a leash, I’ll be ready before you are. I’ve spent my life living with other dogs and cats, and I do just fine with both. I can be a bit aloof with new dogs at first, and I might bark at unfamiliar animals (or people!) until I figure out they’re okay—but once I know you, I settle right in. I’ve never bitten anyone—I just like to announce myself and keep an eye on my space. You could say I take my tiny security guard duties seriously. At home, I’m an easy companion. I’m house trained, crate trained, and used to having a dog door and a fenced yard. I enjoy being near my people, whether that’s lounging on my rug, snoozing in my dog bed, or just quietly keeping you company. I don’t like being left alone for too long—three hours is about my limit—but I’m very content when I know you’ll be back soon. As I’ve gotten older, my hearing and eyesight aren’t what they used to be, and loud noises like thunder or the vacuum can make me a little nervous. Strangers can too—but give me a moment, and I’ll warm up. What I really love is kindness, patience, and a calm environment. My person loves me very much but can no longer care for me, and I’m hoping to find a peaceful home where I can spend my golden years feeling safe and loved. If you’ve got a quiet home, a gentle heart, and maybe a cozy spot next to you… I think we could be just right for each other.
