Story
Jesse Freckles is his name and being the Director of Fun is game!
Jesse Freckles is a well-mannered party animal in a very handsome spotted suit. He is confident, affectionate, wildly playful, toy obsessed, people loving, dog loving, and at the sweet age where he is under the assumption that personal boundaries are more of a suggestion than a rule. Jesse throws his whole heart, and occasionally his whole body, into having fun and sharing love. Underneath that enthusiasm is a smart, treat-motivated boy with a great settle. Even the best parties have to wind down.

Jesse is a young Pointer/Pittie mix with rich chocolate patches, scattered freckles, floppy ears and warm golden eyes, but with animal rescue, breeds are always a mystery and never an exact science!
Jesse LOVES to play. He is very dog friendly and confidently meets new dogs, quickly moving from introductions to the much more important business of PLAY! His style is rough, tumble, physical and enthusiastic, complete with some vocal commentary. He shares toys well, happily shares attention from his people, and genuinely enjoys having canine friends around. Jesse would love another playful dog who enjoys a physical playstyle but is also confident enough to set boundaries with him. He needs a buddy who can participate in the fun while occasionally informing Jesse that even recess has rules.
Jesse's fun-time mentality is best suited for larger small dogs, 25 lbs + and a cat-free home. People, however, are Jesse’s jam. He is confident and loving with new people, happily accepts all the belly rubs and will roll right onto his back the moment he meets you! He loves attention and is happy to imagine that everyone he meets has been waiting specifically for their chance to experience the Jesse Freckles fun!
He is also extremely treat motivated and already knows how to sit, which gives his future family a fantastic starting point for training. Jesse is energetic, but he absolutely knows how to relax. In fact, one of the nicest things about him is that when you actually ask him to slow down, he does. Give him clear expectations, reward the behavior you want, and his busy body and brain happily relax, ready and willing to work with you.
That structure will be important for Jesse given he is still growing and learning. Jesse will thrive with someone who is looking forward to training and is comfortable consistently teaching a smart young dog how to continue growing into a well-rounded and well-mannered adult.
Jesse would love room to run and a yard to enjoy fetch but he could also live in an apartment with an active family committed to giving him appropriate exercise, training and outlets for his energy.
Jesse is a wonderfully confident young dog and is comfortable in the world. He handles new environments, noises and activity well, walks easily into a kennel, and happily entertains himself without showing separation concerns.
Jesse is ready for playtime, toys, training, adventures, a sturdy canine buddy and his very own people! With all his cuteness you get an affectionate, freckle-covered boy who is going to make life so much fun! If your household could use a Director of Fun, Jesse is accepting applications.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
