Honestly, this version has significantly fewer demands, substantially better hair, and has never once requested a bowl of only green M&Ms. This dog has the emotional range of a golden retriever who just won the lottery. Like seriously. If a serial killer offered him snacks, Steven would probably be halfway into the van before remembering he was supposed to have stranger danger. He's the canine equivalent of that friend who somehow wakes up at 6:00 AM and says things like, "Good morning! Isn't it a beautiful day?!" while everyone else is contemplating violence over their lack of coffee. The best part is that none of it is an act. Steven genuinely seems convinced that every day is the greatest day of his life and every person he meets is someone he's been waiting his whole life to see. The world can be stressful. The news is depressing. Gas is expensive. Your laundry probably isn't folded. We have questions. Was there a clerical error? Did everyone assume he was already adopted because surely a dog this happy, handsome, and friendly couldn't possibly still be available? We genuinely have no explanation. What we do know is that somebody missed out on four months of daily entertainment, unlimited tail wags, and a dog who approaches every day like he's headlining Madison Square Garden.When Steven joined rescue, we also discovered he was heartworm positive. Thankfully, this rock star has already completed treatment and received the all-clear from his veterinarian. Now onto Steven's social life. Specifically, let's talk about his complete inability to understand the concept of personal space. You know that guy at a party who introduces himself by immediately standing six inches from your face and asking if you want to see 400 pictures from his vacation? That's Steven. Subtly is not in his vocabulary. Neither is "reading the room." When he sees another dog, his brain immediately skips past all the normal canine introductions and goes straight to: "OH MY GOSH ARE WE BEST FRIENDS?! SHOULD WE WRESTLE?! SHOULD WE RUN?! SHOULD WE START A BAND?!" The catch? If another dog responds negatively to his enthusiasm, Steven is likely to respond right back. He's not out looking for trouble, but he also isn't the type to shrug and walk away if another dog decides to make things spicy. Because of this, Steven would do best with the canine equivalent of a surfer dude. The dog who hears, "Wanna run laps around the yard for absolutely no reason?" and responds with, "Yeah dude." The dog who gets body checked by excitement and says, "No worries, bro and then does it right back to him" The dog who looks at Steven's complete lack of impulse control and thinks, "Honestly? I respect it." What Steven does NOT need is a dog who's trying to turn him into a boring member of society. Steven is never going to be the dog wearing a business suit, carrying a briefcase, and discussing his five-year plan. He's not interested in quarterly earnings reports. His pep level isn't getting turned down to "respectable suburban gentleman." That's not who he is. Steven is the friend who makes a complete fool of himself just to make someone smile. The one who starts dancing in the grocery store. The one who can somehow make an ordinary Tuesday feel like the best day of summer vacation. As for cats? Steven has also reviewed the concept of cats and has determined they are absolutely fascinating. Far too fascinating. In fact, Steven finds cats so fascinating that we're looking for a cat-free home. The cats have requested this in writing. Kids? He hasn't spent much time around them in foster care, but we'd recommend older children. Not because he's mean—quite the opposite. Steven is essentially 60 pounds of enthusiasm operating at full volume. A small child could easily find themselves accidentally recruited into an impromptu game of "Let's Run Everywhere For No Apparently Reason And Then Become One With The Floor." And new people? Oh, Steven LOVES people. People he knows. People he doesn't know. People he met once three years ago in another timeline. The mail carrier. The cashier. The guy filling up his gas tank. The neighbor walking across the street. Social butterfly doesn't even begin to cover it. If you're looking for a dog whose favorite hobbies include napping for 14 hours a day, quietly judging the neighbors through the window, and occasionally moving from one couch cushion to another...Steven Tyler would like to respectfully decline your application. This boy clocks in at a solid 8 out of 10 on the energy scale. He is a "Hey, what are we doing today kind of dog? Hiking? Swimming? Road trip? Exploring? Chasing adventure? Great! Let's leave five minutes ago!". Adventure seeker? Absolutely. If Steven had opposable thumbs, he'd have already booked the camping trip, packed the cooler, and mapped out three scenic overlooks before you finished your morning coffee. And speaking of adventures...Car rides? Steven practically teleports into the vehicle. No lifting required. No dramatic negotiations. Just pure excitement. His overall temperament? Just a happy-go-lucky goofball who seems genuinely thrilled to be alive, thrilled to be out of the shelter, and thrilled that every day now comes with the possibility of adventure. Let's get one thing out of the way. Steven Tyler is not difficult. He's not destructive. In fact, for a dog who has enough enthusiasm to power a small city, he's actually a remarkably good boy. The catch? He's a good boy with a lot of horsepower. Because of that, Steven would really thrive with a securely fenced yard combined with regular exercise and adventures. He doesn't need a marathon runner. He doesn't need someone summiting Mount Everest every weekend. He just needs a family willing to help him burn off some energy and continue teaching him how to channel his enthusiasm into good decisions. Potty trained? Yep. Kennel trained? Also yes. Chewing? Nope. Barking? Sure. But only at a normal, reasonable dog level. At the end of the day, Steven's foster summed him up perfectly: He's a really good dog with lots of love and lots of energy. He needs a family willing to continue teaching him manners, helping him build confidence, and showing him how to navigate life outside of a shelter. Because Steven missed out on a lot in his previous life. Now he's finally getting his chance. Underneath all the enthusiasm, the goofy grin, the surfer-dude energy, and the occasional complete lack of personal space...There's a genuinely wonderful dog who's trying really hard to figure out how to be somebody's best friend. Meet Oreo! He is 2 years old, around 50 lbs, and a Pointer/Pittie mix hunting for his forever home! He will steal your heart while also trying to steal whatever objects he can find and then run and hide with them! He thinks he's pretty funny. He is a big fan of his chew toys and loves a good squeaky toy! Oreo gets hot easily and absolutely loves water. He will stand in the water bowl and make a mess with the water on the floor if you let him! We'd love to see how much fun he has with something bigger than a puddle! He loves sleeping in dark, cool places. He can sound pretty furious when playing, but isn't a mean boy. He's just got that kind of sound. Oreo is house and kennel trained. He is still a young guy and will need a family that can help him keep learning all the ways to be a great boy. He is good with other dogs and has been exposed to different breed and sizes. We're unsure how he is with cats. He has been around older children and would probably be okay with younger ones as he's not prone to biting or scratching when he plays. This hungry guy is very food motivated. He LOVES treats which is coming in super handy as he is learning his basic commands. He and his siblings do best eating separately from each other as they will swipe a bite from another's plate if you let them.
