Story
Flapjack is an 8-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) with a whole lot of love to give. This handsome boy is truly a big love bug who lives for attention, affection, and being close to his people. Flapjack has been an outdoor dog for quite some time, so he can be a little bouncy and excited when meeting new people. Once he settles in, though, you’ll see what an easygoing, adaptable gentleman he really is. 🐾 A little about Flapjack: • 8 years old • German Shorthaired Pointer • Great with kids • Has never shown aggression • Does wonderful inside with no potty accidents • Polite and well behaved in a crate • Rides well in vehicles • Knows sit, lay down, and go • Easygoing and adapts well to most situations • Has reportedly never barked in his life! • Strong on a leash and will need some continued leash training • Needs to be neutered ❤️ Flapjack being boarded several times and lying on concrete, Flapjack developed pressure-sore-type areas on his hips. One side has healed nicely, but the other continues to be a challenge because Flapjack spends much of his time outdoors and doesn’t always choose a soft place to lie. He has been evaluated by a veterinarian, but what he really needs now is a home where someone has the time to keep him on soft bedding, apply his ointment as directed, and monitor where he chooses to lie so his hip finally has the opportunity to completely heal. His current family works long hours and cannot safely crate him for that length of time, making it difficult to give his hip the consistent care it needs. Flapjack isn’t asking for much — a soft bed, some extra care, and plenty of love. In return, you’re going to get a devoted boy who absolutely lives for affection. He is seriously just one big lover who wants to be part of someone’s life. 💚 📍 Located in Eastern Washington 📧 Please email "journeyhomerescue@outlook.com" (mailto:journeyhomerescue@outlook.com) and ask for an application for Flapjack. 🚐 Journey Home Rescue provides transportation to approved homes throughout the Pacific Northwest.
