Story
Meet Trek!
Trek is a six-month-old Schnauzer/Terrier mix who came into rescue with his three siblings—who are all now adopted. Found running loose and underweight, he’s come a long way and is more than ready for his own forever home.
Trek can be a little cautious at first, but he likes to get a “bird’s-eye view” of what’s going on, size up the room, and then slowly ease his way into play. Once he’s comfortable, his sweet, playful side comes out quickly. He does great with other dogs and his favorite buddy is a larger doodle foster friend—those two love sprinting around the house and playing chase.
Trek also has a lower-key side and absolutely loves curling up next to his foster mom for naps and pets. He’s an affectionate little guy who wants to be close to his person.
He is fully vaccinated and has completed all of his puppy shots. Trek is learning the ropes: we’ve started potty training and leash training, and both are still very much a work in progress. He does well in his crate, though as he learns his potty routine, occasional accidents are expected. He’s also working on his jumping and already responds well to the “off” cue—he’s eager to please and ready to learn.
Trek is a wonderful mix of playful, observant, and snuggly. With continued routine, guidance, and patience, he’s going to make an incredible companion for someone ready to help him grow into the confident, devoted dog he’s meant to be.
Trek is fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. His adoption fee is $300.00.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
