ABOUT RODNEY Rodney is ready to come home with you! This adorable little shortie is a 1-year-old Schnauzer mix with a loyal, affectionate personality. Rodney came to HAP after being found wandering as a stray, and while we don’t know much about his past, he quickly won over staff and volunteers with his energetic, loving nature. He’s enjoyed attending events and spending time out of the shelter, and we’ve learned that in larger crowds or busy settings, he can be quite the social guy. While Rodney is friendly, he has small dog energy, meaning he may be startled by tall or loud humans at first, so a gentle, calm approach is the way to win him over! Similarly, Rodney prefers doggy friends his size or smaller, that approach him respectfully, without jumping or barking at him. What can we say, he's a refined gentleman! With the right person, Rodney is sure to blossom into the sweetest sidekick and is ready to give his whole heart to someone who gives him a chance! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
