Meet Bigotes! 🐾 Bigotes is a sweet 10-month-old Schnauzer mix who weighs about 15 pounds. He’s neutered and fully vaccinated, and he’ll be arriving from Mexico this month looking for the loving home he truly deserves. Bigotes’ story began in difficult circumstances. He was found living in a house where he had been badly neglected—ungroomed for months, covered in fleas and ticks, underweight, and confined to a very small, dirty space. Thankfully, his former owner agreed to surrender him to a rescue group in Salamanca, Guanajuato, giving Bigotes the chance at a better life. Despite his rough start, Bigotes has proven to be a gentle, affectionate little dog with a wonderful spirit. From the moment he left that environment, he showed how happy and loving he is. He enjoys being around people, including children, and gets along well with other dogs. Bigotes loves cozy comforts—his favorite place is curled up on a soft bed for a good nap. He has a medium energy level, making him a great companion for families who enjoy walks and playtime but also appreciate a calm cuddle buddy. He’s already learned some great habits: Potty trained to go in the yard or during walks Comfortable riding in the car Walks well on a leash Bigotes does show some food guarding, which isn’t unusual for dogs who have experienced food insecurity, but with patience and positive training he can continue building confidence around meals. After everything he’s been through, Bigotes is ready for a safe home where he can feel loved, secure, and part of the family.
