Story
Meet Sprout, a 3-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who weighs 18 pounds. She’s a friendly, adaptable little dog who warms up quickly once she feels safe and loves being close to her person. Sprout is house trained, does very well in a crate, and sleeps either crated in another room or occasionally in her foster’s bed. She enjoys spending time in the yard, likes car rides, loves sitting in your lap, and will happily follow you around the house. Sprout has gotten along well with dogs of all sizes and has shown no interest in the resident cat. She hasn’t been around children, and because she can be nervous at first, she would do best in a home without small kids. Sprout is food motivated and should be fed separately from other dogs to keep mealtime stress-free. She has some mild separation anxiety and may bark when crated or gated away from her person, but overall she’s a happy girl who settles well once she understands the routine. Sprout will thrive in a calm home that gives her patience, reassurance, and a chance to continue building confidence. She’s a loving little companion ready to find a place where she can truly belong. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Lola is a 17-pound bundle of joy who has been such a bright spot in my home. She’s the perfect mix of playful energy and soft, snuggly sweetness. One minute she’s bouncing around with her puppy excitement, and the next she’s curled up beside you like she’s known you forever. She’s been wonderful with everyone here, my 1-year-old nephew absolutely loves her, and she’s gentle and patient with him. She gets along great with the cats and has become fast friends with my Pomeranian too. Lola really just wants to be close to her people. She knows sit, down, and is working on stay. She’s housebroken and will go in her crate when we leave the house, even though she’d always prefer to be near her humans. And she gives the sweetest little kisses that make it impossible not to smile. Lola is ready for a family who will soak up all the love she has to give. She’s loyal, affectionate, and full of joy! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
