Story
Harlem, a 5’year-old Husky, is a remarkable dog. Regrettably, due to his intelligence and knack for escaping, we have been compelled to seek a new home for him with someone experienced in handling Huskies. Known for his skill in opening doors, running away, breaking out of his crate, digging under fences, and slipping out of his collar, Harlem poses a risk on our busy street. Our primary concern is his safety, as he is prone to wandering and could potentially be hit by a car. Harlem's hunting instincts have led him to the chicken coop and goat pen, resulting in the unfortunate loss of a few animals and causing distress to the farm owner. While he is a wonderful dog who deserves a loving home, we have had to make the difficult decision to ensure his well-being. Despite his good nature and compatibility with our female Pitbull and children, we cannot ignore the safety of both Harlem and the other farm animals.

Hello there, I'm Lucy, the most curious canine you'll ever meet. My curiosity got me here, actually. I was once in a grocery store, just sniffing around. I saw a sausage stand and thought, 'Aha, free lunch!' But, the sausages were tied to a string. I pulled one, and the whole stand came crashing down! Amidst the chaos, a kind soul brought me to this shelter. I've learned my lesson, I promise. No more sausage heists for me. I'm all about belly rubs and fetch now. So, how about it? Meet Jack—the fluffy, one-eyed sweetheart with a heart of gold! This big white cuddlebug is house trained, crate trained (doesn’t really need one anymore), and great on a leash. He’s affectionate, loves to snuggle at your feet, and once he knows you, he’ll cover you in kisses. He naps most of the day, then gets a playful burst of energy—fetch, chase, zoomies, and long walks are his favorite! Jack also LOVES cold weather and would stay outside all day when it’s chilly. Because of his thick coat and sensitivity to brushing, he usually gets a short shave in warmer months to stay comfortable.
