While he can be affectionate and loyal with adults, he has displayed signs of anxiety, reactivity, and discomfort when interacting with young children. Despite efforts to manage and improve these behaviors, it has become clear that Buddy would be better suited to a home without children, where he can feel more secure and less stressed. This decision was made with Buddy’s safety and well-being, as well as the safety of others, in mind. Buddy has many positive qualities and would thrive with an experienced owner who can provide a calm, structured environment and continue working with him on his behavioral needs.

Beary is a 4.5 year old RetreiverShepherd mix. He takes his time warming up to people, but is a very affectionate and intelligent dog! He has completed training courses with ease and knows basic commands like sit, stay, come, down, leave it, spin, shake, “wait” before jumping in or out of a car, and “climb” for staying on an elevated pet bed. He’s house trained and crate trained and is eager to please. Beary loves the outdoors, walks, fetch, and has played on agility equipment, but his favorite place is wherever you are! He also loves snuggle time and will be your #1 cuddle bug. While Beary is a very good boy, he would do best in a home without any other dogs or young children. He does not like to share his toys or his beds with other dogs, but does well at parks or in outside places around others. He also picks and chooses his people, but will warm up with gentle patience and treats. Once he decides you’re a friend, he will enthusiastically give you all his love! Beary would do best in a quiet home without other animals or children for him to worry about. He wants to receive all the love of the home, and is a very good boy who would thrive with someone looking for an active, well-trained best friend. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Beary’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. **Courtesy Post ** Chevy is a 40lb Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. She loves playing fetch and catching the frisbee. She loves everyone she meets. She would do very well in a no kid household. She could also do well in a household with another dog, but doesn’t know sharing is caring so she just needs to learn how to share her toys. She is kennel trained (prefers to sleep in her kennel at night), housebroken, knows to sit, lay, paw/shake, leave it, and has been working on release. She does well going out into public settings and LOVES going to Home Depot. She's a plant girl. She loves swimming and playing in the water. She is high energy and needs a fenced in yard that she can run in.
