Story

Meet the Sweets Litter: Lemon Meringue, Gooseberry, Creme Brulee, and Cobbler! These gorgeous pups were sadly dumped just down the road from the shelter. Luckily, we got to them in time before something happened. They look to be Golden Retreiver/Australian Shepherd mixes, but their history is a mystery! If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out an application at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt. You can also reserve an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have visits scheduled, so appointments help ensure I’ll be available. Other outofstate adopters either travel to Missouri or arrange & pay for air transport. Virtual meetandgreets are available on the appointment request. ##2854567##

House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,

Story

**Courtesy Post ** Chevy is a 40lb Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. She loves playing fetch and catching the frisbee. She loves everyone she meets. She would do very well in a no kid household. She could also do well in a household with another dog, but doesn’t know sharing is caring so she just needs to learn how to share her toys. She is kennel trained (prefers to sleep in her kennel at night), housebroken, knows to sit, lay, paw/shake, leave it, and has been working on release. She does well going out into public settings and LOVES going to Home Depot. She's a plant girl. She loves swimming and playing in the water. She is high energy and needs a fenced in yard that she can run in. If you are interested in adopting Chevy or have any questions, please email aashleypickett@gmail.com Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 12, 2026, 8:35 am

PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. ### Meet Jackie! 🤍🐾 If you’ve ever dreamed of having a gentle giant by your side, let us introduce you to Jackie! Jackie is a gorgeous 3-year-old Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix weighing in at **88 pounds of pure sweetness**. While she has some Golden in her, Jackie definitely takes after her Great Pyrenees side—she’s calm, confident, independent, and has that classic Pyr personality. Jackie absolutely **loves people** and is wonderful when meeting new friends. She has a gentle, easygoing nature and would happily spend her days hanging out with her humans and soaking up all the attention. She also has a fun side and enjoys the water, so a little splash time is always a bonus! Now, Jackie does have one thing she’d like to make very clear: **she’s the boss.** 😂 She knows what she wants and isn’t shy about letting the other dogs know it. Because of that, she would do best with another dog who has a more submissive, easygoing personality and isn't looking to challenge her for the executive position. Jackie is the kind of dog who makes an impression—not just because she’s a big, beautiful 88-pound girl, but because she has such a sweet and gentle soul. She loves her people, welcomes new friends, and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a big-hearted best friend. If you’re looking for a **gentle giant with a little “I’m in charge here” attitude**, Jackie may be your girl! 🤍🐾

Story

Moose is a very happy, friendly, loving and cheerful boy. He loves to play , rough house , go on walks and just be loved on and to love his people. He loves to chew on bones and some stuffed animals mainly , not really fetch or toug of way type activities , he is the complete opposite of aggressive in my opinion. He comes from a abuse past and hates being in a Kennel and the vet and I think something with his back paws so he doesn’t like them touched at all unless your playing with him and petting him all over. We have to re home him because our cat isn’t taking nicely to him at all, and our apartment doesn’t like that he keeps talking to try to go and be friends with her. We have all the stuff that he needs from bed to leash to food to water to toys and bones. All things that he loves and to make him feel comfortable and happy

Story

Rose loves to play fetch and tug of war she needs a house, not an apartment. As she is reactive on the leash and pulls and barks at all dogs and All people, but I can take her to the dog park and she is just fine. She is skittish of meeting new people, but it doesn't take her long to warm up She will definitely need a female owner in the house as she takes to women better than men she is not very high in energy , but does still like to play she is house trained. She can sit laydown and shake she is kennel trained as well.
