Our Adorable Little LOWRIDER! Mint is a handsome, happy, playful boy who got a second chance thanks to a kind Samaritan who found his mama living under a tree. Mama had even dug a little hole to keep her babies safe—and that’s how this sweet boy got his gardening-herb name! Mint’s foster mama says he is a sweet, high-energy love bug who is always ready for fun, playtime, and cuddles. He loves everyone! Kids, other dogs, toys, and adventures are all totally his jam. His mama appears to be a Lab mix, but since Mint and his siblings look a little different, we’re not exactly sure what breeds make up this adorable crew. We do have a pretty good suspicion that Mint has some Dachshund mixed in! This little guy is wonderfully low and long, giving him that irresistible lowrider look. Whatever his mix may be, one thing is certain—Mint is ridiculously cute, full of personality, and ready for a forever family! If you’re looking for a fun-loving pup with a big personality and an extra-low ride, Mint may be your guy! Norman has been part of our family since he was a puppy. He is incredibly smart and loyal. He does well in 4-H and well behaved around children and other dogs OUTSIDE of our home.We have realized that Norman’s biggest struggle is territorial behavior in our home. He becomes irritable and has had 2 incidents of bad behavior to people coming into his home without introduction.With our three children and frequent people coming and going, we no longer feel we can realistically manage every interaction safely. We believe Norman may thrive in a home where new people can be introduced appropriately. We love Norman very much, which makes this decision incredibly difficult, but we feel rehoming is ultimately the safest and best choice for him and our family.

Meet Truffles -“The Ears Have It!” Few critters in the animal kingdom have ears that can move separately, up/down, folded, or crisscrossed. The magnificent Truffles is one of the few! This gorgeous, friendly, athletic gal is endowed with huge stick up bat signal ears. When not receiving transmissions, one or both of her giant receivers crisscross atop her head. She loves long walks on her leash, zooming, playing with balls & stuffies, tug-of-war and of course, cuddling. Truffles was born with a genetic condition called mega esophagus that requires a bit of extra time & special steps at meals. She has a custom chair that allows her to eat in an upright position. Truffles eagerly gets into her chair as she is quite food motivated. She sits in her chair for 15 -20 minutes after eating. She cannot have treats. And that is it! You might notice her throat moving like a bullfrog when she is sleeping, due to the enlarged esophagus, but that is nothing to worry about. She is intelligent, active, affectionate, and eager to please. She is ideal for an active family or individual. More Attributes! Leash trained Loves kids, but likely too boisterous for little ones Needs extra care at meal time Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Mickey needs more room to play and a best buddy hooman! He was born on an Arizona Native Am Reservation and roamed free. We adopted him at 5 mo. and he was a ball of polar bear love. Mickey is now turning 7 and 65 lbs of lean athleticism. He has less fluffy coat than most great pyr dogs and has never worked as a guard on a ranch, but he has always had a big yard to run and play. Now we've been forced to move to a small house and yard due to the dire illness of his owner. Mickey has female dog-mates at home but doesn't get along with male dogs when around his female sisters. Meeting new people of all ages is one of his favorite things. He loves to play ball, collect stuffy toys, and play with friends. His new owner should know this strong opinionated breed. He barks at dogs going by, but not continuing. "Heel" still needs work, but he has leash training. Sit, stay, come, down, leave-it, gentle, drop-it, all work! Mickey is available at Animal Rescue League in Des Moines.
