Story
Brylee is a stunning 9-month-old purebred Golden Retriever with a gentle soul and a heart that is learning how to trust again. Currently weighing about 43 pounds, she is expected to mature into a beautiful 50-pound adult. Her journey hasn’t been an easy one — she was left behind at a small Tennessee shelter when her breeder no longer had use for her. In that loud, unfamiliar environment, Brylee shut down completely, overwhelmed and frightened. Everything changed once she found her way into a loving foster home. Surrounded by kindness, patience, and canine friends, Brylee has begun to blossom. She now enjoys playing with her foster dog buddies, soaking up affection from her foster mom, and discovering how wonderful life can be when love is freely given. Watching her come out of her shell has been nothing short of beautiful. Brylee walks well on a leash but will benefit from continued practice, as she had little exposure before. She is crate trained, though she strongly dislikes being crated, so we are seeking a home where someone is present much of the day — not one where she would be left alone for long work hours. A safely fenced yard is a must so she can run, play, and enjoy the freedom every young Golden deserves. This girl’s Golden personality is ready to shine in an active home that enjoys walks, hikes, adventures, and making memories together. She would be a wonderful walking, running, or hiking partner and will quickly become your loyal shadow and best friend. Brylee does show a strong interest in cats, so a cat-free home is recommended. She does wonderfully with other dogs, children, and adults. Brylee is fostered in Tennessee and can be transported to the northeastern corridor — we transport every weekend. If you feel your home could be the loving, guided forever family she deserves, please email ccrnewengland@gmail.com as soon as possible.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 1, 2026, 12:15 am

Story
The life of a southern dog can go either way sometimes.   The lap of luxury or maybe not luxury at all.  Conway ended up not in a home with a shag dog bed and the warmth of much needed heat in the deep cold of Winter.   This two year old male Golden Doodle is a real treasure.   He was just recently outside in a dirt area with little to keep him intellectually or physically stimulated.  He soon discovered a way to get out and the owners had chickens that Conway decided to chase.  Soon the family was posting on FB that he had to go  'or else'.  This boy has entered the Critter Cavalry Rescue foster program and he has scored at least a high 9 so far.  All he needs to do is learn the routine for housebreaking and he will be the PERFECT 10.   For now he is wearing a bellyband and the most wonderfully grateful smile you have ever seen.  He rolls around in the shag dog bed (after his much needed groom to shave off all the mats) and feel the softness on his newly bathed skin.   He can't believe he got so LUCKY!   This boy is wonderful with other dogs, even when they growl at first meetings.  He rides in the car beautifully and is really good on a leash for a country boy.   He is 55 pounds and fully grown.  Smart, loving, happy and just waiting to soak up so many things that someone wants to teach him.  He would be just fine with children and he is even fine with cats in the house.   No chasing of those!   You better give this boy a real consideration fast because he is a diamond in the rough with very little polishing left to do. Conway is ready to go Feb. 7th to a new home in the northeast.   He is currently in Nashville, TN in foster care and will be transported once he is adopted.  Videos and conversations are available with the foster parent.     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 3, 2026, 10:24 am

Story
Hello there, I'm Lucy, the most curious canine you'll ever meet. My curiosity got me here, actually. I was once in a grocery store, just sniffing around. I saw a sausage stand and thought, 'Aha, free lunch!' But, the sausages were tied to a string. I pulled one, and the whole stand came crashing down! Amidst the chaos, a kind soul brought me to this shelter. I've learned my lesson, I promise. No more sausage heists for me. I'm all about belly rubs and fetch now. So, how about it? Ready to add a little Lucy-love to your life?

Story
Margo is the kind of dog who stops people in their tracks—beautiful, soft, soulful, and radiating that unmistakable Golden Retriever sweetness. She came from a backyard breeder as an 8-week-old puppy, advertised as a Goldendoodle, but as she grew, it became clear that her heart and her heritage lean almost entirely Golden. Born on 2/7/23 and now weighing about 50 pounds, she has matured into a graceful, gentle young girl who wants nothing more than to be loved. Her original family adored her and provided her with a safe, caring home, but unexpected personal challenges arose—difficult ones that prevented them from giving her the consistency, time, and attention she truly deserved. They made the painful, selfless decision to ask for help in finding her a new family, wanting Margo to live her best possible life. And what a gift this girl will be to her new home. Margo is sweetness personified. She is friendly with every dog she meets, respectful and calm around cats, and gentle enough to be trusted with young children. She needs to be in a home of no small dogs - she thinks they are playthings. Her temperament is exactly what people love about Golden Retrievers—steady, affectionate, intuitive, and endlessly kind. She greets new people with a soft smile and happy tail as if welcoming them into her world. Margo is still young and doesn’t have many commands under her belt, but she is a blank slate in the best possible way. She watches her people carefully, eager to understand what’s expected of her, and she responds beautifully to gentle guidance. With patience and routine, she will blossom into a perfectly mannered companion. A fenced yard would be ideal for her—she loves the freedom to run, sniff, and stretch those young, energetic legs. She hasn’t had nearly enough opportunities for outdoor play or structured exercise, so a family who values activity and time outside will help her thrive. After playtime, she’ll settle in beside you with that soft Golden warmth that makes every house feel more like home. Margo is the whole package: beauty, personality, intelligence, and a heart full of love. She is ready for the stability of a forever home where she won’t have to transition again—a place where she can grow up, bond deeply, and be cherished every day. If you’ve been dreaming of a young Golden mix with all the emotional intelligence and gentle spirit the breed is famous for, Margo could truly be your once-in-a-lifetime dog. She is hoping to find her new family just in time for the holiday season. To apply for this beautiful girl, email ccrnewengladn@gmail.com. Margo is ready for her fresh start. &#226&#156&#168PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 24, 2026, 5:58 pm

Story
Are you ready for some big puppy fun??? Cooper is a happy, clever young guy that is looking for adopters that will be excited to help him achieve best boy ever status! This means positive rewards training, fine tuning house training, exercise and tons of fun and laughs in between. Because Cooper loves everyone he meets and gets very excited, he might forget all about the polite way to greet people and be a bit on the jumpy side. Teens that are comfortable with bouncy young dogs and will participate in his training, will be considered. He can potentially join a home with a resident dog that is comfortable with his rough and tumble play style and who can be a good role model. No cats in the home at this time, please. Cooper is ready to become a wonderful companion for many years, he just needs to find his forever family. If you think he might be the one for you, please drop by the shelter during open hours to talk to staff. Tuesday- Sunday 12-3p
