We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 7/24/24 Meet Melo! You can't tell by looking, but he is 1/2 Golden Retriever. His mom is a hound mix who weighs about 40lbs, and dad is full Golden. He is handsome and so sweet! He was born 5/27 and will be ready to go to his new home in a few weeks. Good with other dogs. Hasn’t been around cats or kids but he’s just a baby, so that shouldn’t be an issue! He is neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and started on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 7/5 Cardi is looking for a home. We are unsure of her breed, but possibly a golden mix? She is a young adult and is about 40-50lbs. She is excellent with kids and other dogs and doesn't bother cats. This is what her rescuer and foster had to say about her: Cardi was dumped around May 15th in the middle of a Wildlife Management area. She was spotted sleeping on an old dumped mattress and recliners. She was terrified and would not come close to anyone trying to help her. I put a dog house with food and water out for her. On May 27th I was able to get close enough to catch her. Cardi is such a sweet girl who is so thankful to have been saved. She loves other dogs, cats and children. She is a little unsure about men. More so when they are quickly approaching her. She prefers a gentle slow hand reached out to her, kneeling down to her level from men, otherwise she will run to greet children and women. She sleeps in a pet carrier at night and has done well. We have a doggie door so potty training has gone well for us. She loves toys and playing with Matilda. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available.
