Story
Hi… I’m Slump. I know—it’s kind of a funny name for a big, fluffy white German Shepherd like me, but it fits my laid-back style. I’m about 8 years old and 80 pounds of loyal, gentle companion. I’ve spent my life as a house dog, with free run of the home, and I’ve got the whole “good boy” routine down—house trained, leash trained, and always ready to settle in for a cozy evening. I do enjoy my walks (a lot, actually), though I can get a little excited and pull on the leash. I just get eager—it’s my favorite part of the day. At home, I’m pretty chill. I love a soft spot to lay down, a calm environment, and being near my people. I’m independent enough to relax on my own, but I’ll never turn down a good snuggle. I’m gentle and sweet once I feel safe, and I bond deeply with my humans. I get along well with other dogs and even cats, so I could fit into a home with other furry friends. I do prefer a quieter household, though. Small children make me nervous, so I’d do best with adults or older kids/teens who understand how to give me space and let me come to them. I can be a little shy at first, especially around strangers, and I take my job of protecting my home and family seriously. Once I know you, though, you’ve got a loyal friend for life. My person recently passed away, and it’s been a big change for me. I’m looking for a calm, loving home—ideally with a yard—where I can feel safe again and just be myself. If you’re patient, kind, and looking for a steady companion to share quiet days and loyal love, I think we might be perfect for each other.

Heidi ho there neighbors! Heidi here, pleasure to make your acquaintance! I am looking for a place to live out my golden years! I may be getting up there in age, but I still have plenty of energy for hikes, playing, and loving on you! I have met some other dogs here at Heartland, and though I like to play with them, I also like to go off and explore. Please ask to meet me today!My adoption fee is $150 and I currently weigh 71 pounds.

I don’t look like a bear, but I’m cuddly like a teddy! I love running, exploring, and would make a great hiking buddy! I have met other dogs here at the shelter and have done excitedly well. It may take me a little to adjust to people, but OH BOY, when you become my friend, we’re ride or die!Adoption fee is $225 and currently weighs 86 pounds.
