I am rehoming my 5 year old Golden Doodle. I had to move and with my current living situation I sadly can’t have here any more. She is a very sweet girl who deserves a loving home! She loves to play and is energetic but calms down as well

Story
Meet Artie ❤️If you're looking for a best friend who's equal parts goofy, loving, adventurous, and adorable, Artie may just be your perfect match.Artie came to DeKalb Humane Society from the amazing team at Shadarobah, who worked incredibly hard to help this sweet boy and give him the fresh start he deserves. He was transferred to us in hopes of finding his perfect forever family, and we're excited to help him get there. This handsome wire-haired mixed breed has the sweetest soul and a personality that shines once he gets comfortable. Artie loves spending time with his people, exploring the outdoors, running zoomies through the yard, and rolling dramatically in the dirt like it's his full-time job. He finds joy in the simple things—sunshine, fresh air, muddy paws, and a good belly rub. While Artie is incredibly loving with the people he knows and trusts, he can be nervous around new people and busy environments. Because of this, he would do best in a quieter, lower-traffic home where he can take his time getting comfortable. Artie isn't the type of dog who wants to meet every stranger right away—he prefers slow introductions and a chance to build trust at his own pace. Once he feels safe, his affectionate and playful personality truly shines.Artie would thrive with a family who understands that not every dog is a social butterfly and is willing to help him navigate new situations with patience and encouragement. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion who forms deep bonds and loves wholeheartedly. He also loves spending time outdoors and would be thrilled to have a family that enjoys adventures as much as he does. And while he may come home a little dusty from his explorations, that scruffy coat is part of his charm! Because of his unique wire-haired coat, Artie will need regular grooming or a family willing to keep up with his coat care to keep him comfortable and looking handsome. If you're searching for a devoted companion with a goofy personality, a loving heart, and the cutest scruffy face around, Artie is waiting to meet you. ❤️An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00

Story
Meet Trixie!Trixie is a tiny sweetheart with a gentle soul who is looking for a patient family to show her just how wonderful life can be. She came to us through Loyal K9 after being surrendered by a breeder who no longer wanted her. While her past wasn't ideal, we're excited to help her find the loving home she has always deserved.Because Trixie wasn't well socialized as a puppy, new people and unfamiliar situations can be overwhelming for her. When she's scared, she doesn't become aggressive—instead, she simply freezes and hopes the scary thing will go away. She'll need a family that understands she isn't being stubborn or unfriendly; she's just trying her best in a world that still feels very big and unfamiliar. One thing that brings Trixie comfort is other dogs! She really enjoys the company of canine friends and would likely do very well with a confident, friendly dog in her new home who can help show her that people aren't so scary. She takes cues from other dogs and gains confidence by watching them.Trixie is looking for a calm, patient home where she can move at her own pace. She may not be the dog who runs up to greet strangers right away, but every small victory—taking a treat, asking for a pet, or wagging her tail when she sees you—is incredibly rewarding. Watching a shy dog learn to trust is one of the most special experiences, and Trixie is so worth the time it takes. She'll need a family that celebrates the little milestones, understands that building trust doesn't happen overnight, and is committed to helping her continue to grow. With love, consistency, and plenty of reassurance, we know Trixie will continue to gain confidence and show more of her sweet personality every day.If you're looking for a loyal little companion and have the patience to let her bloom in her own time, Trixie just might be your perfect match. An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00
