Weight: 48Lbs Meet Fonzie 😎 — yes, that Fonzie, and yes, he’s cool… once he knows you. This sweet, goofy guy just needs a minute to warm up and make sure you’re a friend, not a vacuum or a sudden loud noise. Give him a little time (and maybe a treat or two), and you’ll quickly earn access to his lovable, silly side. Fonzie is the kind of dog whose personality really shines once he feels comfortable. He’s sweet, affectionate, and delightfully goofy in a way that makes you laugh without even trying. One important note: Fonzie’s hair grows fast, and when it does, he genuinely can’t see where he’s going — which adds to his charm but means he’ll need regular grooming to keep those peepers clear and his confidence high. He’ll do best with a patient adopter who understands that some dogs need a moment to adjust and who’s committed to keeping up with grooming (Fonzie would like you to know that “hair in eyes” is not his best look). Once settled in, he’s a loyal little companion with plenty of love, laughs, and happy moments to share. If you’re looking for a sweet pup who starts off reserved and ends up stealing your heart — and maybe bumping into a wall or two before his next haircut — Fonzie is ready to meet you. 💛✂️ Dogs: Unknown, we always rec. a meet and greet! Cats: Unknown Kids: please bring all kiddos in to meet this guy!!

OMG, say hello to Glitter!Glitter and her equally adorable sister Sparkles (also available) recently made their way to FDHS and are ready to steal some hearts. These girls are about 9 months old and are very much still in their puppy era. Glitter is a Doodle mix with a coat that leans hard into her Poodle roots, so regular grooming is a must if you want to keep her curls looking healthy, fluffy, and fabulous.Glitter is sweet girl and a quick learner, she has all the potential to be an amazing family dog. She can be a little shy when meeting new people at first, but with love, patience, and confidence-boosting, she’s going to absolutely shine. She’s lived with other animals and is loving with humans of all ages. Glitter is officially accepting adoption applications and is ready to trade shelter life for a forever home where she can be loved and adored.

Story
This scruffy little lady is Miss Sparkles!Sparkles and her sister Glitter (also available) were recently surrendered to FDHS to find forever families! Sparkles is the definition of happy-go-lucky. This girl is all sunshine and rainbows, all the time, and we’re pretty sure she’s never had a bad day in her life. She’s outgoing, goofy, and always ready to make a new friend or turn anything into a fun moment. If joy had four legs and a wagging tail, it would look a lot like Sparkles. She’s not super curly like her sister, but instead rocks the cutest little scruffy look that somehow makes her even more cute. Sparkles is super duper sweet and affectionate with her caregivers and loves being right in the middle of whatever is happening. With her friendly nature and easygoing personality, Sparkles would be a great fit for most family environments.

Story
Hudsyn is a 40 lb, 2-year-old dog located in Grand Rapids who adapts quickly to new environments and is eager to learn. She is currently working on potty training, basic commands such as sit, and learning not to jump. She has begun crate training and will need an adopter who is committed to continuing her training and providing consistency and structure.Hudsyn would do well in a home with children, but adopters should be aware that she does jump and can be mouthy, using playful nips when she’s excited. Ongoing training and supervision will help her continue to improve her manners. She would love a home with another dog, as she enjoys playing and having a canine companion. Hydsyn does shed and will require regular grooming and brushing to prevent matting.A meet and greet in Grand Rapids and a site visit are required before the adoption is finalized.Hudsyn is a sweet, playful dog with lots of potential and would thrive in a home ready to guide her with patience, positive reinforcement, and love.I’m fully-vetted, spayed & microchipped and ready to join your family with an adoption fee of $300. Questions? Shoot an email to projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Ready to make me a part of your family?  To fill out an application , visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org. Story
Hi my name is Xena! I’m an affectionate 3 year old female Labrador Schnauzer mix that weights 56 lbs. After being at the Ingham County Shelter I went through my training at the correctional facility and really learned my manners and how to act in a home. I love people and show my affection for them with snuggling, impressive tail wags, and lots of kisses! After my training I went to a home that I did really well at; I acclimated to the cat that lived there and we ended up getting along great. I went in my crate at bedtime, and during the day, if I needed to be left alone, I could be trusted in the house. But I didn’t like it when the young kids would crowd my personal space and if they left the door open for me I would run into the road and want to adventure, so it was decided it would be safest for me to be in a home with kids ages 10 and up. I am playful but I know when it’s time to play and when to stop. I love my toys and I’ll probably greet you at the door and then go get one of them to play with you. I have a skin issue that medicated shampoo and a supplement helps but is still being resolved. I do chase squirrels, deer and moles, so having a FENCED IN YARD IS A REQUIREMENT! When it comes to other dogs I need slow introductions and exposure over time and then I can ease into being them. I walk really well with my gentle leader halter; it helps me not pull and reminds me to stay right next to my person. I benefit from consistent routine and having boundaries set for me, including clear communication about hierarchy in the home. My trainers at the facility said that I need exercise, obedience, and affection in that order! I am food motivated and willing to work during training sessions; I truly want to make my human happy and I try hard to please! I have learned a lot over the past 6 months going from shelter to training facility to a home and now another home; I’m trying my hardest and would love to keep learning while also building a lasting relationship with you! Submit your app today! I’m spayed and I’m UTD on all my vaccines, HW, FT, and have a microchip of my own.  RPSM recommends children 10 years and older.  I will require a fenced in yard, either physical or underground. If you are interested in adopting me, please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application. My adoption fee is $300.
