Missy is a 7 year old, 25 pound, small and adorable golden doodle whose tail never stops wagging. Missy was rescued from a New England puppy mill but is not your typical mill dog. She LOVES attention and LOVES people. Missy does well with other dogs but doesn’t need another dog in the home to thrive as many mill dogs do. Missy likes to snuggle and be held. Missy is crate trained. Missy is learning sit and not to beg for people food. Missy is fostered in Brunswick. Peanut warms up quickly and is happiest when she has another dog in the home—this is a requirement for her adoption, as she relies on a canine companion for confidence and emotional support. She is housebroken, highly intelligent, and settles beautifully in the home. Peanut enjoys exploring, bonding with her people, and curling up for snuggles once her day is done. She hasn’t been around children, but older, dog-savvy kids may be fine with proper introductions. Peanut is loyal, affectionate, and full of personality. Once she bonds with you, she becomes your little shadow, offering kisses, cuddles, and endless love. She came into our care with her sister Peanut, and while the girls do not need to be adopted together, Buttercup requires another dog in the home. A confident, friendly resident dog helps her feel secure, shows her the routine, and gives her the courage she needs to trust new people. Buttercup is shy at first and will need time and understanding during her adjustment period. But once she knows she’s safe, her gentle personality starts to shine—she becomes affectionate, loving, and devoted. She is housebroken, highly intelligent, and quietly observant. She watches her surroundings carefully and learns quickly by following the lead of other dogs. She has not been around children, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy teens would be best. What Buttercup truly needs is a calm environment, structure, and someone who appreciates the magic of watching a shy dog build confidence at her own pace. Once she settles in, Buttercup becomes a sweet shadow, offering soft kisses, cozy cuddles, and deep loyalty.
