MY RESCUE STORY
I was rescued from an animal hoarding situation where I was living alongside many other animals without the individual care and attention every dog deserves. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me the chance to leave that difficult environment behind.
Now I’m ready for a fresh start and a forever family where I can finally experience what it means to be truly loved, cared for, and cherished as part of the family.
MY HEALTH
All vaccinations up-to-date
I have hypothyroidism and currently take Synthroid (1.5 tablets, twice daily). Once my adoption is confirmed, a one-year supply of Synthroid will be provided for me.
MY PERSONALITY
I got my name Ginseng because of my beautiful golden fur! I’m a gentle, quiet boy with a playful side, and one of my absolute favourite things is toys. I could happily entertain myself for hours, carrying my favourite toys around in my mouth and enjoying playtime.
I’m pretty independent when it comes to other dogs and usually prefer doing my own thing. I’m a peacekeeper at heart, and even when another dog is being pushy, I stay calm and avoid getting involved in any drama.
I can be shy when meeting new people and am still learning that the world is a safe place. Sudden movements or unfamiliar experiences can sometimes scare me, so I appreciate gentle approaches and a little patience. Once I realize I can trust you, though, my affectionate side comes shining through. Give me the time I need, and I promise I’ll be worth the wait.
MY SOCIAL SKILLS
· With People: I’m a little shy with people when we first meet and need some time to feel safe and comfortable. Tasty treats are a great way to win my trust, and once I start feeling more relaxed, I’ll happily accept pets and affection.
Sudden approaches, especially if someone tries to pick me up right away, can make me nervous. Give me some time, approach me gently, and let me build trust with you first. Once I know I’m safe, I’ll start showing you my sweet and affectionate side.
· With Dogs: I like greeting new dogs and am happy to say hello, but I don’t usually jump straight into playtime. I’m more independent around my dog friends and generally prefer doing my own thing while peacefully sharing my space with them.
· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown.
ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY
I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.
TRAINING & HABITS
I walk nicely on leash and follow my handler’s lead well. I also have good manners around food and don’t guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs.
I may bark when I’m looking for attention, but overall I’m a pretty quiet pup and know how to settle down and rest calmly in my kennel.
Car rides are still scary for me, so I’ll need some patience, reassurance, and positive practice to help me become more comfortable with travelling. For potty habits, I currently go both indoors using pee pads and outdoors.

I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:

SPECIAL NOTES
I may be shy at first, but underneath that cautious exterior is a gentle, affectionate boy just waiting to feel safe. I’m still learning to trust people and can be nervous around sudden movements or unfamiliar experiences, so patience and gentle approaches mean a lot to me.
Once I warm up, you’ll see my sweet personality start to shine. I especially love playing with toys and could happily spend hours carrying my favourites around in my mouth!
I’m looking for a family who won’t rush me and will let our bond grow naturally. Give me a little time, some tasty treats, and plenty of kindness, and I promise I’ll be worth the wait.
