Story
Beau Rane is a beautiful 50 pound, 4 year old Poodle mix, he is neutered, up to date on vaccines, wormed, micro chipped. Looking for his home.
From his foster mom, "Beau is a sweet, snuggly boy who loves nothing more than curling up on the couch with his people. He’s affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s close by—but he also settles nicely while I work from home.
Beau is good with young kids, though he’s a bit of a lovable goofball, so his happy tail and big paws may accidentally bump into little ones. He loves giving hugs and is eager to please.
He knows a few basic commands and would benefit from someone willing to continue his training. He’s crate trained (a treat helps!) and sleeps in his crate through the night. Beau likes to steal socks, nibble on fabric, and steal paper towels from trash cans but hasn’t actually destroyed or eaten anything—just a silly game he plays.
On walks, he does well with a harness, though he gets very excited when he sees other dogs. He seems to want doggy friends but doesn’t quite know how to play appropriately yet. He’s shown no aggression towards other dogs but does bark in excitement.
Beau can jump very high, so a securely tall fence is important if he’ll have access to a backyard.
*Overall I’d say he is potty trained but he has had a few pee accidents in our house, not sure if it’s a marking thing to do with the tension with our dog or just a bad habit."
"I think Beau would benefit from a family with another friendly dog (maybe female) not necessary but he does seem unsure and wants the reassurance of our dog. He’d do well with kids but doesn’t need them—he’s loves my husband and I. Ideally someone who worked from home or was home most of the day would be great—he doesn’t love his crate but I don’t know that he could be trusted out of it when left alone. He definitely needs to go to someone who is okay with dogs on beds and couches because he has no boundaries there. He does dart out of the door if we’re not careful so someone that doesn’t live on a busy road would be best for safety. "
Pros: So sweet, cuddly, just wants to be with you all the time, funny, quick to adjust and accept new people, eager to please, seems to be a fast learner (but stubborn/impulsive)
