Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. We are all loving Lois, who arrived from the city pound on November 6th. She is an approximately 3 year old, beautiful, large mixed breed girl who is happy and affectionate. We've been playing some "guess the breeds" with her as she looks like there could be some Great Dane, maybe some boxer, English mastiff... Heck, who knows? She has been vet checked, spayed, and microchipped, and her fee is $150. Lois is looking for a home that has large breed experience. She weighs about 90 pounds. She is strong and could use a little basic training. We do think she'd do okay with other dogs, but she does not do well with cats. Older kids would be best as she is very large and can be a little bit clumsy. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 5, 2025, 11:28 am

Story
Raven is a very loving, silly girl with a big personality and a great sense of humor. If she decides she does not want to do something, she will dramatically lay down and roll over like a toddler, which never fails to make people laugh. She shows affection in much the same way, often rolling into her people to give what can only be described as full body hugs. Raven has a good training foundation and knows how to sit, shake, and lay down. She also responds well to hand gestures along with verbal commands. She does prefer to eat and drink separately from other dogs and does best when given her own space during mealtimes. This is an easy and manageable preference that helps her feel comfortable and relaxed. Raven would do best in a home that appreciates her goofy, affectionate nature and is willing to respect her boundaries around food. In return, she will bring lots of laughs, love, and loyalty to her future family. After a flood, Raven's family is needing to rehome her and her sister, Willow, while they rebuild their home. They have had to take on additional jobs to cover expenses, making it impossible to give the dogs the time and attention they deserve right now. Willow and Raven are both looking for a foster or foster to adopt home where they can receive stability, care, and plenty of love during this transition. Please apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Willow is a relatively young Mastiff Great Dane mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. She is incredibly affectionate and thrives on being close to those she trusts. Cuddling is one of her favorite activities and she will happily lay on you if given the chance, making her a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys a true velcro dog. She is playful, sweet, and enjoys engaging with her people through gentle play and affection. Despite her large size, Willow often seems unaware of just how big she is and would much prefer to be a lap dog whenever possible. Willow does have shorter eyelashes that cause some eye irritation, so her eyes need to be wiped regularly to keep her comfortable. This is a simple but important part of her daily care and adopters should be prepared to stay consistent with this routine. Willow would do best in a home that appreciates a loving, affectionate dog and is comfortable providing minor ongoing care to keep her feeling her best. In return, she will offer endless love, loyalty, and plenty of cuddles. After a flood, Willow’s family is needing to rehome her and her sister, Raven, while they rebuild their home. They have had to take on additional jobs to cover expenses, making it impossible to give the dogs the time and attention they deserve right now. Willow and Raven are both looking for a foster or foster to adopt home where they can receive stability, care, and plenty of love during this transition. Please apply at www.campcompanion.org
