Please contact Jetta (Jetta.elliott@att.net) for more information about this pet.Huge loving great Dane labrador mix, femaleAthena is a sweet, excitable girl with a troubled past. She was rescued from a pack of wild dogs. She was the only friendly dog among the pack and the one picked on. She loves people, even strangers, but doesn't particularly like other animals. Athena needs to be the only dog in a home and she also values her personal space when it comes to cats. She doesn't like baths, but she loves to play fetch and cuddle. Athena is spayed and approximately 80lbs about two years old. She is currently with Ozark Homeward Bound animal rescue in Harrison, Arkansas. She is transported to your location through the rescue network transport. There’s no additional fee for the transport service. It is included in the adoption fee.April 26, 2024, 9:56 pm

Story
Laylah is a beautiful pure bred Great Dane that is 129 pounds and 4yrs young.  This girl lost her home because the other female Great Dane was jealous of her and jumping on her to create a fight.  The family could not afford for them to seriously hurt each other. It was best to have Laylah leave the home for her own safety. She is totally vetted and  spayed and is up to date on vaccines.  She came in scared and unsure of everything because of the turmoil she has been experiencing at her home.  After some work and socializing, she has come out of her shell and she loves to be by her person's side and will make a great companion for someone.  She would most likely need to be an only dog since she is still suffering from the fear of being attacked again by another dog.  She does not show fear to all dogs…but some of the larger ones she is defensive at the moment. She hasn't been off leash around cats but seems to not mind them walking by, even appeared playful through the glass with a cat in the cat colony. She has done well meeting new people but gets nervous if her secure shelter person leaves the room.  She shows this by waiting nose to the door until her person comes back. She walks great on a leash and hops right in the car and rides well. She loves to lay on her stuffies and play with her toys, just playing never destroys them. She will carry around the toy in her mouth just to show everyone what she has. In the mornings she gets the pony girl zoomies where she just yeehawws around the yard until she wears out then she is pretty reserved the rest of the day hanging out behind the shelter desk. When too many dogs are going in out it stresses her so she gets put up in an office until things settle down.  She doesn't seem to mind kids and she will greet them gently. Another plus is that she is also housebroken.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 27, 2024, 10:00 pm

Story
Yes, two Great Danes! With two great Danish names! These ladies are Frida and Hilda. Frida and Hilda are a bonded pair, so they need to go home together. Frida is the "softer" of the two - Hilda is a bolder, bossier gal while Frida is just happy to follow along and go with the flow. It doesn't matter who's in charge, as long as Hilda is by her side, everything is good. They ABSOLUTELY love one another. Here at the shelter, they sometimes even cuddle up on a bed together though there are two beds in their kennel. They came to the shelter as two dogs from an owner who was overwhelmed with too many animals. Their former owner loved them (they're sweet and friendly girls), but they had to make the decision to bring Frida and Hilda into the shelter so that they could get the proper care and attention they needed. Frida and Hilda are a whole lot of dog times two!! They're big ladies who like to have fun, play, run in the yard and get attention and love from anyone and everyone who's available at any given moment! They play really well together and enjoy one another's company, but they don't appear to like any other dogs (they're very reactive toward other dogs here at the shelter) so they want to be your only pets. They're looking for an adult-only home (teens might be okay). If you're interested in these big bold beauties, give us a call at (603) 472-3647 and press 1 for adoptions, to schedule an appointment to meet them!

Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Lainey turned one on April Fools Day. She is a very loving and loyal dog. We have had her since last summer when she joined our family around 4-5 months old from an out-of-state owner who has her parents. Lainey is a nervous girl around unfamiliar adults but very friendly once she warms up. She is great with kids and loves to be involved in their play but would benefit from a home with older children who understand her boundaries. She does well with our older large dog and one cat but does not do well with animals she does not know. Lainey needs an experienced owner who can provide companionship and help with her social skills.
