Welcome Reesaw to CCPAL Rescue. She is an 18-month-old Great Dane mix dog. She weighs in at 102 pounds. She is good with other dogs and came in with an older Great Dane named Planter. Reesaw does pull on leash but we will be working with that. She is moderately active and would be fine with a moderately active family. She is a good balance between active and couch potato. She is good with people and will bond deeply with her person. Great Danes are typically a little shy and they warm up and bond deeply to their family. She does fit this characteristic. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Someone who has owned an XL dog or a Great Dane would be preferable. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 180. This splash-happy pup LOVES the water—whether he’s chasing toys into the pool, splashing through a creek, or just romping around the yard, Breaker is always up for adventure. With the playful energy of a Boxer and the gentle, loyal nature of a Dane, he’s the best of both worlds—equal parts fun and affection. Breaker is dog-friendly (with pups his size), loves people, and is happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s making great progress with crate training and is learning his puppy manners, especially when treats are involved. Breaker wasn't given much structure as a pup so, Breaker sometimes tries to play bite to get his way. Even after a board-and-train program, he will need a family committed to consistent, positive reinforcement training to help him reach his full potential. Hilda hasn't had the best life before coming to the shelter, but she's ready to make her next home one full of fun and love! Hilda enjoys playing with her toys and romping around the yard. She's quite affectionate, loves to give kisses, cuddle, and soak up all the love she can get. Hilda is looking for a home where she can be the only pet and where she can stick to a consistent routine. Although she is newly blind, she is learning to navigate well and has been learning commands to help her out. A steady routine will be important to help her adjust to her new home. Polaris' former owners were heartbroken to give him up as he's just the sweetest and most loving dog! Sadly, Polaris came to the shelter because one of his former owners is facing some serious health issues. They wanted to keep him, but they knew it wasn't possible, so they brought him to the shelter in the hopes that someone special would find him and give him a good home. Polaris is very friendly. He's a little overwhelmed to be here at the shelter because it's a big change, and he loves to be with his people, but he's been lovely with everyone here. He is a bit jumpy currently, but that can be helped with training and plenty of exercise. He just needs to have his needs met. Polaris is sweet with people, but since he's somewhat of a "bull in a china shop," we think he wouldn't do well with little kids; only sturdy older kids for this guy! A big dog might be a match (pending a dog meeting here at the shelter), but he'd be too much dog for a small dog). No cats for this guy! Polaris is so deserving of a good home.
