You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NJRex will be in NJ on 8/22 Meet Rex  Rex didn’t end up in rescue because of anything he did wrong—his family lost their home, and this sweet boy lost his along with it. Now he’s patiently waiting for a fresh start with someone who will love him forever. At just 8 months old, Rex is already showing what a special dog he is. He’s a stunning Great Dane mix and will likely grow into a big, handsome boy around 75–80 pounds—but his personality is all softness. He’s incredibly gentle and very submissive, the kind of dog who just wants to be close and make you happy. Rex has a playful side, too—he enjoys toys and a good romp—but he’s not over-the-top or hyper for his age and size. He has a calm, easygoing energy that makes him a joy to be around. And when he gets excited, watch out for that adorable “happy tail” that tells you just how much he loves life. He’s crate-trained, walks nicely on leash, and has a quiet, sweet demeanor that makes him an easy addition to many homes. Whether you’re looking for a walking buddy, a couch companion, or a loyal best friend, Rex is ready to step into that role. Most of all, Rex is just a good boy—with a big heart, gentle soul, and so much love to give. If you’re ready to give this beautiful black dog the second chance he deserves, Rex is ready to meet you. Rex is fixed, is micro-chipped and is up to date on vaccines. He tested negative for heartworm. His adoption donation is $6 00. Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2026, 8:25 pm

Daisy just arrived and she is beautiful! She is a little nervous meeting new people at first but warms up quickly. She will need training, she has absolutely no leash manners and she is a very tall girl. She also has LOTS of energy! She will need to be spayed before she can be placed. More info to come as she acclimates in her foster home. Please include your home area code and a phone number where a volunteer can reach you when contacting us about an adoption. Story
Elmer is a sweet 3 year old great Dane/ mastiff mix. He came into rescue with his family of puppies and sister due to no fault of their own. He loves everyone he meets and greets them with tail wags and big leans. If Elmer really likes you he will sit in front of you and offer his paw then lay down for belly rubs. He is gentle taking treats and will sit for his food. He goes into the crate easily and loves a soft bed to sleep on. He is trustworthy in the house and has not been destructive or counter surfed. He has the typical great dane characteristic of being glued to his foster mom's side. Elmer is currently living with a large female dog and has shown that he can be pushy if she is getting more attention than he approves of. He will push between and needs to be corrected. He quickly responds to redirection. He loves tennis balls and will carry a large one around in his mouth and play independently. He loves to run and play with his foster sister but needs to be reminded not to get too rough. Taking walks is one of Elmer's favorite things to do. He sits to have his leash put on and walks with minimal pulling. He does need a strong handler though in case he sees another dog or small animal. He will leap and lunge towards other dogs, not aggressively but wants to meet them and he will stare at birds, rabbits, and squirrels he sees outside. He is overly curious of the cat and chinchillas in the foster home and needs to be pulled away from the cage and chases the cat. At this time we cannot recommend placing him in a home with small animals because of his size and strength. Overall Elmer is a happy, healthy large boy who is looking for a loving home that will be as devoted to him as he is to his people. He has had his cherry eye repaired and has been neutered while in the care of MAGDRL. He will be the perfect addition to the right family. Needs special attention,
Story
Augie (formerly Chico) is a special needs blind 6 month old Mastiff mix who has returned to MAGDRL and is currently getting the training he needs to be the best companion he can be. Augie was not liked by the other dogs in his previous home and would be best as an only dog or in a home with a laid back tolerant large female. Augie will be a big boy, is growing fast and loves to play play play. He is doing so well with his training, and whoever adopts him will have the support of his trainers for life. Augie is loved by anyone who meets him, he may be blind but he does not let it slow him down one bit. Please consider Augie if you love a dog with a lot of character, have big dog experience and even better if you have blind dog experience. He is going to blossom into a wonderful companion with some maturity and continued reinforcement of his training. UPDATE JUNE 2026: Augie, our special needs blind mastiff mix, has been in the kennel since Thanksgiving, he just turned one year old. He desperately needs a home that is willing to work on his special needs. He can be very sweet but has his quirks and needs leadership. He will bond quickly to his leader. He has been thru lots of training and knows all of his commands, walks great on a leash. Please help us find Augie his forever home, he deserves a loving home, he has so much love to give. Please include your home area code and a phone number where a volunteer can reach you when contacting us about an adoption.
