Story
Meet Linus, an unclaimed stray now looking for his forever home. This young, energetic dog is eager to please and loves to play. He is interested in everything that goes on around him. When he came into the shelter, he was very much underweight and is now at a healthy weight. Due to previous resource guarding behaviors, he's not suitable for a home with young children and will likely do best in an adult-only home. Currently, Linus is doing very well with his training to learn how to control his impulses and guarding. He is turning out to be a big Goober and is very affectionate. He knows basic commands. He loves car rides and has had several great outings in the local park. He has an energetic, rough and rowdy play style with other dogs. He will do best with an experienced handler committed to continuing his training. Are you the special someone who can give Linus the love and guidance he needs? Potential adopters will be required to spend time with the volunteer currently working with Linus to review handling and training. $75 adoption fee includes neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations and microchip. He tested NEG for heartworms, has been treated for parasites and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

Story
Located DFW area, willing to travel — Due to the loss of my husband, primary caregiver and main provider for a bonded pair of Great Danes (Lulu and Ava) it is with a heavy heart that I must rehome my girls, while I would prefer to keep them together I understand bringing 2 large Great Danes home is a lot for anybody. Lulu is 5 1/2 - 6 years old and weighs approximately 110 lbs. She is a special girls that had Wobblers as a puppy, but had surgery to correct the spinal compression. Even at her age she often acts like a puppy. She will lay her head on your shoulder for loving. While she will go in a crate, we have found it is not necessary when we leave her alone for during the day or at night. She would rather be around people, than play with a toy, however, when given a toy she will throw it around for a few minutes; then return to whomever is nearby. She was sensitive about her feet being touched, but she is becoming accustomed to nail trims. She eats Kirkland (Costco) food.
