Lola is great with kids, cats, and other dogs, and she has the sweetest, most patient personality. She’s house trained, well-mannered, and loves being part of family life — whether that’s a walk around the neighborhood, snuggling on the couch, or watching over her people with quiet devotion. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready to find her forever home where she’ll be loved as much as she loves in return. Story
Raya is a beautiful female Great Pyrenees who was found running loose in Richmond, CA. Raya was very scared and timid when she first came to Jelly's and wouldn't leave her kennel or take treats from staff and volunteers. She has made a lot of progress and now happily comes out of her kennel and enjoys going to the yard where she plays with stuffed animals and munches on treats. Raya is a true example of her breed. She let's you know if a stranger walks nearby and is a great protector. Raya is NOT for a first time dog owner. She needs extra time meeting new people or being in new environments, so would do best in a quiet, all adult peaceful, predictable home with no other animals. Raya will be spayed, UTD on vaccines and microchipped as part of the adoption process. If you would like to meet Raya, apply at jellysplace.org/forms

Story
Leo is a drop dead gorgeous Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever. He was adopted as a puppy and surrendered to a kill shelter for a bite related to resource guarding. We have seen very few incidents of resource guarding here and have worked with him so that he realizes he does not need to guard his food or important things. Leo is a happy, active, friendly boy. He is super smart and LOVES participating in our informal agility course and solving puzzles. He has a calm, almost regal presence about him which makes other dogs respect him and leave him alone. He seems to prefer calmer female dogs to.play with and has lived with cats. He LOVES playing in the water, taking hikes, chasing a frisbee or rolling on his belly for rubs from his favorite people. He is great riding in a car. The ideal home for Leo would be with a family with alot of dog experience, with oldernor no kids who enjoy water sports, hiking, going on adventures and running/walking around the neighborhood. Leo is neutered, microchipped and UTD on his vaccines. If ypu are interested in meeting Leo, apply at jellysplace.org/forms

Story
To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2025/11/11/palomita Meet one of our newest rescue, Palomita Palomita is a one year-old female mixed breed (Great Pyr, Aussie best guess). We rescued her this month from Yolo county shelter — unfortunately she had a bad upper respiratory infection and had to be admitted to UCD vet where she battled and is continuing to make a great recovery. She is currently being fostered in Sacramento with children. She loves people but due to her sickness has not been tested around dogs yet. She is housetrained & loves walks. She is 75 lbs of gentle sweetness and will be spayed once medically cleared. We are currently accepting pre-apps now at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adopt Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Gracie is a love... a BIG love! Though she is 66 pounds and should be at least 70, so she is not a huge Pyr at all. She sports a fairly manageable single coat with some undercoat but not a ton of extra fur like a big, classic Pyr, likely she could be a mix. Gracie had entropia surgery on one eye and that is mostly all healed up. She walks well on leash and is dog friendly, but can guard her food a bit with humans perhaps a bit and dogs, she was very thin, and needs a "Bottomless bowl for awhile which should help her with food anxiety, but this is why we have added the kids over 10 years attribute. Gracie is a very lovely girl deserving of a home with people to love, who understand Pyrs, and other critters too.....
