Story
Finn is a young Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as his fluffy white paws. This sweet boy loves people and has the affectionate, loyal nature the breed is known for. Finn has the potential to be an incredible companion for someone who understands his breed.Because Finn is still young, he’s also still learning about the world. He would benefit from an experienced owner who can provide structure, consistency, and positive training. Like many guardian breeds, Finn can sometimes show dominance behaviors and resource guarding. With patient training, clear boundaries, and continued socialization, these behaviors can absolutely improve.Finn would thrive in a home with:- An experienced dog owner, ideally familiar with guardian breeds like Great Pyrenees- Someone committed to continued training and positive reinforcement- A calm, structured environment where expectations are clear- A home without young children while he continues his training- A fully fenced yard area so he knows boundaries of what`s his to patrolThe good news? Finn is smart and responds well to guidance and consistency. With the right leadership, he has the potential to become a deeply loyal, loving companion who will watch over his family with quiet devotion. If you’re looking for a beautiful young dog who will reward your time, patience, and training with lifelong loyalty, Finn may be the perfect match for you.Weighs around 60 lbs

Story
I am super sweet with a calm, gentlemanly vibe. I was transferred here from another facility because I was out of time and on the urgent list. Thankfully, I was given another chance here. I’m the kind of dog who enjoys a peaceful pace and good company - a gentle soul who thrives on attention and affection. I love car rides, walk nicely on a leash, take treats politely, and I already know how to “sit”. As an added bonus - I am house-trained! I also seem to do well meeting other dogs, even though I was found with many bite wounds. I might be a little bit older, but I have so much love left to give. I just need a soft place to land. Maybe I could crash with you ... forever?Written by one of our volunteer dog walkers: `Meet Boji — The Polite Gentleman With the Perfect ReviewBoji is a 7-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who carries himself like he pays taxes and tips well.I approached a volunteer who was walking him and asked if I could snap a few photos. She didn’t mind. Boji? Mildly skeptical. But in a dignified way.He greeted me calmly, took a few treats (thank you very much), and even sat on cue a couple of times. Yes, sir. He seems smart. Not flashy-smart. Quietly-smart. The kind of dog who listens, processes, and then decides you’re worth cooperating with. When I asked the volunteer how he’s been for her, she didn’t hesitate: “Perfect.”That’s a bold word — and she meant it. She said he walks nicely on leash and was easy to get out of the kennel. No drama. No theatrics. Just a solid, dependable guy doing his thing.Later, when I passed by his kennel, he was calmly laying on his bed like a dog who understands the value of conserving energy and inner peace.Boji gives off steady, grounded, old-soul energy. The kind of dog who doesn’t need chaos to shine. He’s polite, composed, and seems like he’d make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, mellow partner in life.If you’re ready for a calm, smart, well-reviewed gentleman, Boji is waiting at Flagler Humane Society.Five stars. Would adopt.`Weighs around 68 lbs - House-trained - Good with other dogs! - Walks great on leash, affectionate, loves car rides!

Story
This is Arora. She is a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Arora is full of energy and loves to play, run, and be part of the action. She is playful, affectionate, and absolutely loves to cuddle once she’s had a chance to get her energy out. She is also house trained and does well with kids and other animals. Because Arora is still young and very energetic, she can play a little rough at times, so she would do best with someone who can keep an eye on her during playtime and continue helping her with structure, patience, and training. She would thrive in a home that can give her plenty of love, activity, and attention. This decision has not been easy, but my priority is finding Arora a safe, loving home where she can be cared for, understood, and given the life she deserves. Please reach out if you or someone you know may be interested in meeting Arora and giving this sweet girl a loving home.

Story
My husband and I adopted Lady and Nala from the SPCA in Lakeland when they were approximately 6 months old (unsure of exact age as they were found on the side of the road together) and have had them ever since. We estimate that they are 7-8 years old. Due to job vulnerabilities and expecting our second child, we simply do not have the time, money or patience to continue caring for them. It is a very tough decision for us, but it is best for our family and we’d love to see them go to a loving home. They are fine separated, but ideally we’d like them adopted together. They are good with children, other dogs, house trained, and up to date on shots.

Story
I’m looking to rehome my 1-year-old mixed large breed dog due to an upcoming relocation. She is a loving, energetic girl who thrives on attention and companionship, and she deserves a home where she can get plenty of time and care. She is crate trained, good with kids, and gets along well with other dogs. She has a sweet temperament and would make a great addition to an active family or someone who can give her the love and consistency she needs. This decision hasn’t been easy, and my priority is finding her a safe, caring, and committed hom
