Story
Goose is a shy but sweet 3-year-old Great Pyrenees who's looking for a family that is guardian breed savvy. He really enjoys going for nature walks to investigate all the wonderful smells. With new people he is hesitant at first but once he's had a chance to build some trust he is all about leaning in for scratches. He kind of has that aloof Pyrenees demeanor but does enjoy doing zoomies in our fenced play-yard, and LOVES playing with all the toys. Goose is hoping to find a home where he'll have a fenced yard to run and zoom in. When it comes to making friends with other dogs, he is selective with what he deems "friend" and prefers any potential dog friends be females only. He is looking to be the only dog in the home, but may not mind having some structured playdates once comfortable with new friends. He would prefer any children in his new home be dog savvy and older so they can understand his boundaries.

Story
Pupdate: Things we have learned about Sargent. Extremely laid back pupper! He will literally ask for permission from his foster mom before he proceeds to investigate something new. He loves car rides! Loves to go on hikes with his foster family both two and four legged. He is still a bit tentative about going in the water at the lake. Maybe that it is still a bit cold. This beautiful friendly guy was found in the middle of a road in a rural area in the middle of a storm. He is around 5 months old currently. He is extremely friendly with his foster human's and with the other animals in the house. He is beginning to learn all the things he needs to know about living in a house. He loves his walks and loves to carry his ball with him on hikes. His vet thinks that he is a Great Pyrenees mixed with a smaller dog that will help to temper his size when full grown. If you are interested in learning more about Sargent please email Cathy at pawsofdalehollow@gmail.com

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Levi is a two year old neutered male great pyrenees from KY. He is a sweet soul. He came in emaciated at the end of September and has cutrently gained 10 pounds but needs to keep gaining. Our first priority was to get all the matts out of his coat. His coat is in poor condition, dry and brittle but is starting to improve. He will be a handsome guy when his coat grows out. Levi seems to have some hearing loss, sort of like an old dog would when he is asleep, he doesnt hear you but feels vibrations mostly but does appear to hear certain tones. He does have some hearing so not totally deaf. We have been teaching him some sogn language that he is responding to! **update** Levi continues to gain weight and muscle mass. He is able to run around and play with the other dogs. At this point it does not look like his arthritis will effect him much in the near future but will later in life. Keeping him thin, regular exercise and supplements are a must.***We suspected Levi has issues with his back legs and xrays confirmed he does have hip dysplasia as well as the start of arthritis in his knees. We have started him on supplements and an exercise program to build muscles in those back legs and get him strong and healthy. Despite his medical issues this is one great dog. We are hopeful someone will want to share their home with the sweetheart and he doesnt have to live in a kennel. Please visit our website for more pictures of this dog and info on our adoption process and application which is located on the left column under "forms & applications" :                            https://barkdogfarm.rescuegroups.org Before applying be sure you have thoroughly researched Great Pyrenees.  They can be stubborn, prone to barking, overly protective and cannot be off leash.  You WILL NOT train a pyr to boundaries.  Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. We do not have blanket criteria regarding adoptions. Each applicant is considered based on many things including but not limited to breed experience, yard ( visible fence preferred) and other animals in home. We try to avoid dogs with same sex households as pyrs typically do not do well with the same sex. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called.  A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place.  If all are in agreement and the animal has received its NH health certificate an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid.  Adoption fees for dogs are $450. for adults over 12 months, $550 for puppies 12 months and younger.  Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized. This may involve young puppies be given until a certain age to be altered. All animals are up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate.  Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months. Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment. We show animals by appointment only. This is usually done meet outdoors so please dress accordingly. Please email barkingdogfrm@gmail.com with any questions or to arrange a meet and greet.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 4, 2024, 9:08 pm

She will quietly lay down while you are preparing a meal or eating. Sadie loves to go for walks and does well on leash. She does have a bit of prey drive towards squirrels and chickens.
