Story
Nana is the perfect dog. She is sweet and smart. She is playful and friendly, but very gentle with small children. She is small for her breed. She does not bark very much at all, but she is protective when she needs to be. We have a new baby, and she likes to sit in front of the baby make sure the baby is safe, and she always checks on her when she is crying. We have recently downsized and she does not have enough room to thrive in our new home. Nana should have open space, and a family that can give her attention. She has not spent much time with other dogs, so she prefers human friends. This is her experience so far, but she may love having dog siblings!

Story
Ah...the puberty stage.... Pickles is a 5-month-old gangly goober that doesn't know if he is all legs, all ears, or all eyes. Along with being in his awkward teenage stage, he keeps changing before our eyes. We first thought he was a Great Pyrenees mix. Then, as he grew he started to look more Labrador Retriever. Then Hound. And now back to Labrador Retriever with Pyr somewhere in there if those giant double dews have anything to say about it. Maybe he is all three sprinkled with a bit of Chihuahua for good measure! It seems like every DNA test done as Chihuahua somewhere in the lineage so we might as well already mention it so you aren't surprised late on ;) While I joke, there is nothing "small" about this boy. He is growing FAST! He is already 30lbs and is way taller than her looks in photos. He is a leggy dog. At this rate, you might just see him strutting down the runway one day! As you can tell, Pickles doesn't have quite as much fur as our other resident polar bears. His coat type seems to be more Labbie. Now, before you adopt this boy thinking he won't shed....have you ever owned a Labrador Retriever? Sometimes I think they shed more than a Great Pyrenees...and that is saying something! Even worse, their hair is so fine it seems next to impossible to get it off your clothes. So, if you adopt this boy you better love having some fur glitter on your clothes or never wear black again so you can fool yourself into thinking that your clothes, blanket, pillow, and couch aren't THAT furry. Pickles has had one hell of a life prior to coming to us. First, he was found living under an abandoned house with his siblings. If that didn't suck enough, he ended up in the shelter and on deathrow. When we finally got them, they were emaciated and full of burrs that seemed to have found the most uncomfortable places to lodge themselves on these pups. We barely had time to clean them up before they all broke out with Parvo. Pickles was by far the sickest and we were quite concerned that we were going to lose him. Thankfully, Pickles is not only a survivor but he is a fighter and ended up kicking Parvo's ugly butt. Pickles does have some trust issues when meeting new people and understandably so. He almost died multiple times to due the neglect and abandonment of his first owner. He is going to make you earn his trust. He won't run up to you but rather watch you from a distance and try to figure you out. He is not going to smother you in kisses right off the bat, but instead wait until he knows that you are the one that is going to give him forever. Once you earn Pickles's trust, you just gained a very loyal friend. Pickles is on the calmer side for a puppy but still enjoys a wrestling session with the other dogs every now and then. He isn't crazy about toys, but he does like them from time to time. Pickles has more of a guardian personality and often likes to find himself a spot to watch over everything and keep an eye on things versus being in the middle of everything. He is on the more independent side, but when he does want attention and lovings...there is not a sweeter and more loving boy! Pickles has a certain regalness to him. I can see him in all his majestic glory on a hill looking over his kingdom. I can also him dutifully sleeping by his family's feet when they watch TV, and following the kids around as they run and play outside. I can see this boy smiling a mile wide when you call him and he realizes he gets to be part of the upcoming adventure!

Story
To My Former Owner Why? Why did you abandon me? Why did you not keep me on heartworm prevention? Why did you abandon me when I already only have one working eye? Why did you let me fend for myself? I thought you loved me? I thought we would be together forever, and instead, I have had quite a rough last few months thanks to your carelessness. I never wanted to be a stray. I never wanted to be homeless. I never wanted to be without you. You were everything I ever knew. I never imagined a life without you. I never imagined a life where I would go hungry. I never imagined trying to navigate the streets with only one eye. I never imagined trying to dodge cars. I never imagined being someone who had to beg for help. Even when I came upon people, most just ignored me. I lost everything I had ever known and had no idea how to live the life of a stray. It was a stroke of luck that a nice lady found me wandering around and ended up bringing me inside. It was so nice to get out of the heat and be inside. She was very kind and had a toddler that I adored. I thought that I had finally found a family again, but sadly it wasn't in the cards. The lady who found me was renting and was not allowed to keep me. She tried hard to find a place for me and ended up reaching out to PPFT. They agreed to take me in, and soon my life changed yet again. I have settled into my foster home nicely. A vet trip revealed that I am in fact blind in my right eye but thankfully it doesn't seem to be causing me any pain. It was also discovered that I was heartworm positive. So, that sucked. Not only did I have to face being abandoned but also the fact that you didn't protect me while I was with you. Now, I have to go through a very expensive and lengthy treatment. I just wish that I knew why. Why did you put me through all of this? Why did you welcome me to your family only to abandon me? Did you just decide that I didn't matter anymore? I thought family was forever not just "until." I want to be mad at you. I want to say you never mattered. I want to wish that I never met you...but that isn't me. I loved you, and I am hurt but while you might have not loved me as much as I did you...it was still real to me. We cannot change the past, and maybe that is a good thing. At least now, I am being treated for those nasty heartworms and I have a chance at finding my true forever family. And that brings me to why I wrote you this letter. Before I can focus on my future, I have to let go of my past. I have to let go of the hurt. I have to let go of the whys and hows. What is done is done, and I only hope that you will do better in the future..... ------------------------------------------- To My Future Family: My name is Nash and I am a 2-year-old, 79lb male Great Pyrenees mix. I am a very calm and quiet boy. I do get excited about walks and will sometimes do Zoomies when my foster mom gets back home from work because I am so excited that she came back! I will play/wrestle with my foster sibling a couple of times a day. The rest of the time I am just chilling. I am not really into toys, probably because I didn't grow up with them and don't really know what they are. I have not had the chance to play in any water, so am unsure if I am a water dog. I love being with my people, but do believe that I would be happiest with a more calm and quiet lifestyle. I would probably be fine with a few adventures outside the home every now and then, but overall I would consider myself to be a homebody. I do need help getting in the car but once in ride pretty well. I may drool a little though. I do enjoy going on walks, and would probably also love going hiking. I am calm and easygoing when meeting new people. I never jump or get crazy. I just stand for pets and love from my new friends. I am very friendly when meeting new dogs on our walks. My foster mom says that I am easy to control and that I keep calm. I am potty trained and can be trusted to free-roam the house. I am being fostered around other dogs and cats and do well with them. I also do well with children but think they should be older as fast movements do scare me. I think that about sums up everything that you should know about me. If you are interested in learning be sure to submit an application for me and then you will also get to review the evaluation form my foster mom filled out for me! I bet you can find some other details there about me! --------------------------------------------- Application to adopt Nash https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3 Location: Edmond, OK -Adopters must be able to pick up their new dog, with no exceptions. Adoption Fee: $250 Includes: DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella, Fecal, Deworming, Heartworm Test, Micro-Chip, Neuter, and he will be current heartworm and flea/tick prevention. FROM HIS FOSTER MOM 🐾 ↓ Nash is a sweet and gentle guy and goofy at times. When he moves he reminds me of a cross between a bunny rabbit and a Clydesdale. He’s light on his feet and so elegant when he moves. He came in as a stray and I think he’s had a pretty rough go of it so far in life. He shows tendencies of being abused - he’s a little nervous about new situations and sometimes he dips his head like he thinks he’s going to get hit. But mostly he is just eager to get his love and be part of the family. He sleeps by my bed on his dog bed - he’s not interested in being on my bed. He loves his walks and his time outside. He does have an issue with his right eye. The vet has told me that he’s blind in that eye - likely due to some trauma earlier in his life. It doesn’t bother him at all and I don’t really even notice it at all. He will likely need some lifelong eye drops (not very expensive) and annual checkups with the vet to “keep an eye on it”. Nash would be living his best life if he was in a home with a loving and relatively calm family. I am sure he would be fine as the only dog of the house, but he sure would be happier with a friend to hang out and play with. If there were kids in the house, it’d probably be best if they were on the older side. He does great with cats - he’s interested in them but doesn’t overwhelm them. He needs a yard to run around in but it doesn’t have to be huge. Just somewhere he can do some zoomies and roll around in the grass. It’s ok if his family works out of the house as he doesn’t get nervous or anxious when his people leave - but he does get really happy when they return home.

Story
Ahhh...the gangly teenager stage and let me just say that Confetti is rocking it! Confetti is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. That should have just moved this girl to the very top of your list! Along with that, she is rather lazy. Sure, she likes to play in the kiddie pool and then go roll around in the mud. And sometimes to chew up toys and play with the other dogs but those happen in increments. Most of the time you can find this girl passed out somewhere in the house dreaming of her new family. Confetti would enjoy going places with her new family, but since she isn't what anyone would call active...expect to end up carrying her home if you walk too far. I swear, when these Pyrs decide they are done and do the "plop" all I can say to you is...GOOD LUCK! Confetti takes her academics seriously and is working on getting her masters in Potty Training 101, Do's&Dont's of Chewing, and being your best puppy self. She requests that her new family be able to take over her teachings. While she hasn't been a big chewer, if you think that means she won't ever get into things....go ahead and leave those shoes and remotes out...I am willing to bet they won't be in the same spot you left them ;) Now, don't you think you have been letting this girl wait long enough? It has been nine weeks...so stop trying to talk yourself out of it and welcome this fluffball home! 📍 Pickup Location: Skiatook, OK 📝 Apply at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3

Story
My name is Waddles and I am a 4-month-old male Great Pyrenees/Husky mix according to my former owner. I am kind of the oddball out of my litter. Then again, we all kind of look different. I am your typical puppy. I love to play and I love to nap. I am a good mix of playful and calm. I am a social butterfly and love meeting new people/dogs and having adventures. I like playing with toys, especially chasing after tennis balls. My other activities include playing with my siblings, following the big dogs around, exploring the yard, getting pets from my foster family, and napping. I am working on my potty training. Currently, I am enclosed in a certain part of the house when my foster family is away and do well. I am still just a pup, so my new family needs to make sure they are ready for everything that comes with having a puppy. From potty training to leash training to properly socializing me. In case you are wondering how I ended up with PPFT, I was an owner surrender. I was an outside-only dog in my prior home and kept wandering into the road with my siblings. My owner was worried we were going to get hit and ended up reaching out to PPFT about taking us. 📍 Pickup Location: Oklahoma City, OK 📝 Apply at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/hx000BP7nbQvjHX49Uur80FV3 📖 Additional Notes: Waddles is a fun little boy. He loves his people and cuddle time. If he could be with people all the time, he'd be a happy little boy. He loves being held. He also loves playing with the other dogs out in the yard and puppy area. He keeps himself entertained with toys but his first choice of toy is whatever his sibling is playing with. He will be a sweet little boy to add to someone's family Waddles will do well in an active or calm home. He enjoys other dogs but would do fine in a home without them.
