Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Although he is a lovely livestock guardian breed, we’re not seeing too much propensity for guarding from this boy, who wants to be with humans. I’m sure that, given time to destress and be outside in a normal setting, he would be totally different, but for now,w it’s nice to see that he is relaxed and relies on humans for attention. He came to us with another dog when they were strays in the same area of the county. He has had no issues getting along with others, but we have not tried him with cats, other small animals, or livestock. He is headed for a quick vet exam on Tuesday. Branch received his Rabies shot today and went to the vet,t who assured us he is still young. Around a year old and wanting to ride and get belly rubs. Branch was told he was a Jewel of a dog and would make someone a great addition to the family    PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 30, 2025, 5:00 pm

Story
Barney a delightful, goofy Swiss-neese (Swiss Mountain Dog / Great Pyrenees mix). He needs to be rehomed as we now have little children and he is simply too large. He's loving and playful, but because he weighs close to 130lbs he regularly knocks our toddlers over accidentally simply walking by them. Barney has spent his whole life outdoors (as we got him for a livestock guard dog for our farm animals). He loves the cold, and is lazy and slow in the summertime. He loves other dogs and gets along great with all dogs he's been around, but he has not been around cats very much. Barney would do great in a large fenced yard, or large acreage, as he likes to roam when the weather is comfortable.

Story
This beautiful boy is Oreo, he is the sweetest and most playful dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. I got him through his momma after she gave birth to him and I just knew he was my dog. But sadly I gotta give him away because of the place we are moving to, it breaks my heart having to give him away like this but I don’t ever want him going to the pound or anything like that. But if you get the chance to meet him and actually get to know him, you’ll instantly fall in love with him. He’s very scared and gets nervous at first but after a while he’ll warm up and be the best dog anyone could ever ask for. I didn’t see the option but I have to say that his momma is a pitbull mutt, so fully i don’t know what he really is but he’s mixed with Great Pyrenees and some PitBull. But don’t let that stop you from the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. He’s a great listener never had a problem with calling him back or anything. I could go on and on about this dog but I don’t have enough characters.
