Story
Tig is a beautiful hound mix. He is 3 years old and was returned to us after two and a half years when the owner could no longer care for him. Tig is not fond of other dogs so he needs to be the only pet in the house. He will bond quickly with his special person. He requires a yard and a tall fence.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please download and complete an Adoption Questionnaire at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:  Clementine (CLE0325ALAFS)Estimated Breed:  Whippet mixApproximate Age:  1 year Approximate Weight:  50 LBS  Currently Living at:  Foster  Adoption Fee:  $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Clementine is a MUST MEET!  Clemmy is currently living with dogs but would be most happy as an only dog. She is housetrained and know how to sit patiently for her meals.  She is also crate trained and would love a house with older kids to chill with. She loves spending time outdoors and would be a great companion for weekend adventures.  At Clementine's young age, she is in her prime for training and socialization too. Adopting her would mean gaining a loyal and loving companion, a friend who will always be there to brighten up your day. She's waiting to shower her lucky family with plenty of wet nose kisses and butt wiggles. Submit an application today and change this sweet girl's life forever!  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.org.Sponsor Me! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Hi, I’m Rufus. Life took a turn I didn’t expect — my family couldn’t keep me or my best friend dexter anymore, so we ended up at the shelter. We waited and hoped they’d change their mind, but they never came back. It was scary and confusing, but 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue told us that wasn’t the end of our story. Now I’m dreaming of a forever home where I’ll finally be loved and never have to say goodbye again. I’ve got a big heart, a gentle spirit, and so much love to give — I just need someone willing to give me a chance. I absouletly LOVE playing with dexter and they have promised us we will NOT be split and we will get to spend the rest of our lives together. Requirements: Fenced yard Bonded with DexterVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
