Story
I am a sweet and fun-loving boy who loves toys and the great outdoors. They tell me I have soulful eyes and a goofy and sometimes silly side. I walk great on a leash and am always ready to explore the great outdoors. I need a fenced in yard and a human to have fun with. I am a very friendly and happy boy. I like to come up to you and lean on you for a few seconds and get some love then I am off to play with my toys. They kept telling me how handsome I am and I like that. My only vice that I can see is that I think cats are evil and cannot be around them. I guess that's not uncommon in Greyhound Lurchers though. I am now looking for loving family? They tell me that I have the best acrobatic tail and fabulous ears that pretty much communicate his enthusiasm and love of life! Will you consider me? Cross your paws and fingers that I have found my forever home this year. I am 5 /12 years young. If you would like to contribute to my monthly boarding and food expenses, it would be very much appreciated. Foster Update: Smokee is truly a wonderful hound. He would be great with a family that is at least active enough to get him out to do something each day, maybe every other day. He has lots of energy and is super playful. He is also very sweet and likes to press himself against you with his head to get pets ***He is not workable with cats or most likely with small fluffy dogs. Smokee just needs that person who loves a silly, fun guy to give him his forever bed. Pretty sure this boy will go with any "flow" that you want! He loves meeting all humans. He is particularly fond of and balls and is good meeting other dogs his size. He has a zest for life and is very curious about everything he sees. He will make a wonderful pet. Smokee is neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Please email the americanlurcherproject@gmail.com for more information on this sweet boy. Smokee needs a fenced in yard so he can play and enjoy running. Please email: AmericanLurcherProject@gmail.com for more information. The ALP adopts to approved families in surrounding states.

Name: Griffin Age: estimated 2 years old Size: Large. 64 lbs Energy Level: High Dog Friendly: Yes. Griffin requires another active, playful dog in the home. Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Yes, kids 8+ would be best because Griffin has a lot of energy and he zooms around quickly sometimes. Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Yes, physical fence required. Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: Griffin would love an active adopter that will take him for walks, hikes or adventures. Griffin needs a fenced yard to run around and get his zoomies out. We're really hoping to find Griffin a home with another active, playful dog. Griffin loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a playmate who wants to wrestle and roughhouse just as much as he does. Griffin currently goes for 2-3 walks a day. He may only need 1-2 walks if he has an active dog sibling to play with throughout the day.  Likes: Food, treats, toys, bones. Griffin loves splashing around in the baby pool and it's absolutely hilarious! He is a huge fan of walks. The more the better. He'll even grab his own leash and bring it to you when he's "due" for a walk. Griffin is very, very food motivated. Griffin likes to be with his people, dog siblings and wants to be engaged in what's going on around him.  Dislikes: Griffin doesn't have a lot of dislikes per se, but Griffin has a lot of energy, so if anything prevents him from getting his energy out he struggles.   What makes this dog special: Griffin is a really sweet boy and he's a lot of fun! He's a giant goofball, very entertaining and has a big personality. He plays hard and he loves hard!  Back Story: Griffin was picked up as a stray and taken to a rural shelter. His foster noticed that Griffin looked a lot like their current two fosters, Meg and Peter, who were in the process of being adopted. Griffin was taken to the same shelter that Meg and Peter came from and Griffin came to Rescuedohio a few days later, after Meg and Peter were adopted. Griffin's foster was able to confirm via DNA test that Griffin is Meg and Peter's sibling! We're not sure where Griffin had been or what his living situation was, but we are so happy to have him here with Rescuedohio!  Adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and the dog will be current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. ##2691165##

Roxie is back with us to find her a home with NO CATS/NO OTHER SMALL ANIMALS OR CHICKENS. Roxie graduated from a training program at ORW. She is housebroken, loves to sleep in your bed and even likes carrying her own dog bed. She is a sweetheart and is very smart. She will need a fenced in yard but one taller than 4 feet because she will jump a shorter fence. Roxie enjoys playing at the dog park. If you have another dog in the home, we will need to do a meet and greet. Roxie would probably do better with a medium to larger size dog. If you are interested in meeting Roxie, please fill out an online application.
