Here's what you need to know about me:I'd like a relaxed home. I wouldn't say I'm "old"... I've just been around for a while. And that's made me appreciate the finer things in life like naps in the sun, looking out windows, and the special joy when you're able to scratch juuuuust the right spot. I like to take it easy at home - I'm not up for lots of activity. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along. Story
What my friends at OHS say about me:I love nothing more than making new friends, human and canine!I may look all grown up, but I am a still a bit of a puppy. My new family members should be ready to handle my size and exuberant affection!I love to run and chase, so I am all for fluffy toys to chase, food dispensing toys and any kind of game, really! Keeping my brain busy, will help keep me (and you!) happy.I lived with elementary school-age kids in my last home.Giddy-up! The staff here call me a pony because I like to stand on my hind legs for easier access to pets. Are you ready for me and you to be stuck like glue?I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.Escape Artist: I have a history of escaping doors or fences. I will need supervision when outdoors or we can go on adventures together - on leash of course!High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my physical and mental exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish. The type of home I'm looking for:I need a home without cats or other small animals.I must go to a home with a fenced in yard.It could be with you! Story
WOOF! I'M SPARTA! I'm a sweet and active 2-1/2-year-old Cattle Dog mix (possibly mixed with Greyhound) in need of a forever home! I was rescued from a California shelter along with my sisters, who now have been adopted. So now it's time for me to get noticed! I am a relatively small girl - about 40-45 pounds - and would do well in a and active and quiet home with people who can take me for walks, hikes and other outings. I have done well around other dogs though would do great as an only dog, too. I'm currently in Southern California but can be transported to Oregon. Please email for an application.

Story
MEET AJAX! Ajax is an almost 7-year-old Greyhound-Pittie-Shepherd mix, in need of a foster or forever home. Ajax is a special boy who needs a special person to work with him and help him feel secure. He is the type of dog who bonds intensely to his person, and thus any transition is a challenge (and in fact, transitioning him to you could be challenging). But once he bonds to you, he's loyal to you forever. Ajax would be a great companion for an active person who wants a mix of a couch potato and active canine pal. Physically, Ajax is a quirky boy! He's got a pittie face, shepherd ears and long legs. He loves to run and play, and he loves his toys, too. He would do well with an experienced adopter or foster who can provide him with love and attention and some basic obedience training. He was once adopted a couple years ago but returned for jumping up on the adopters. But he was loyal to them, too. And now he's older. He has done well with some dogs but would thrive as an only dog, too. He's not a fan of the vet, so needs to wear a muzzle if he goes. Ajax weighs about 57 lbs. If you can foster or adopt him, and have dog experience, please email for an application. He is currently in Southern California but can be transported to Oregon!
