Story
Pacci recently came into Journey Home Rescue, and this sweet, scruffy boy is looking for a very special forever home. Pacci (pronounced paw-chee, after Al Pacino) is an approximately 2-year-old, medium-sized Lurcher/Sighthound–Mini Greyhound mix. His story is one of love, loss, and hopefully a beautiful new beginning. ❤️ Pacci is searching for a new family after the heartbreaking loss of the person he loved most. He knew what it was like to have his person—and now he deserves the chance to find that kind of connection again. Pacci was raised in a quiet home and isn't the kind of dog who immediately trusts every stranger he meets. He chooses his people carefully, but when he gives you his heart, he gives you all of it. Once Pacci trusts you, he's your shadow. He loves curling up beside you, resting his head in your lap, and following you from room to room. 🥰 He's already shown us that with a little patience, kindness, and time, he's capable of transferring that incredible love and devotion to someone new. 🐕 Pacci loves other dogs, especially bigger dogs, and would probably be thrilled to have a canine playmate. His previous owner frequently fostered and babysat animals, so Pacci has spent his life around dogs of all shapes and sizes. 🐈 He's also lived with cats and even shared his home with a macaw! Pacci has experience being around a variety of animals and is quite comfortable having furry and feathered friends around. Like many sighthound mixes, Pacci loves the opportunity to run and play, so a fenced yard or an active home where he can safely stretch those long legs would be wonderful. 🐾 🏡 Pacci is house trained and knows some basic commands. His perfect family will understand that trust isn't always instant—and that's okay. Give Pacci the time he needs to feel safe, and you'll be rewarded with an incredibly devoted companion. Once you're in Pacci's heart, you're there forever. 💙 Pacci is neutered, and prior to adoption his vaccines will be updated, and he will receive a health check, microchip, flea/tick treatment and deworming. 📍 Located in Southern Idaho 🚐 Journey Home Rescue provides transportation to approved homes throughout the Pacific Northwest. If you're looking for a loyal best friend rather than just another dog, Pacci may be exactly who you've been waiting for. 🏡💙 📧 Email journeyhomerescue@outlook.com and ask for an application for Pacci. 🐾 Please LIKE & SHARE. Somewhere out there is the person Pacci is waiting to love for the rest of his life. 💙🐾

Story
Milo is six years old, sweet as can be, and just quirky enough to keep life interesting. He absolutely loves his people, and when someone he loves walks into the room, Milo doesn’t exactly play it cool. Expect happy hops, excitement, and one very enthusiastic greeting committee. And then there’s the butt-scratch dance. Give Milo a good scratch and he’ll start wiggling and dancing around like you’ve just activated his favorite setting. It’s ridiculous, hilarious, and one of those little Milo things that will make you laugh every single time. Milo loves affection and enjoys meeting new people, but he also has a wonderfully independent side. He’s perfectly content exploring the yard, following interesting smells, and investigating whatever his nose tells him requires immediate attention. We wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a little hound somewhere in his family tree because this boy loves to sniff! He’s also a big fan of enrichment. Wrap some treats inside a blanket and Milo is ready to get to work. He enjoys toys, likes nibbling on his stuffies, and is especially fond of Benebones. Despite his playful moments, Milo is generally a calmer guy who is happy having his own space to relax. In his foster home, he even has his own room where he can be trusted without destroying or chewing things he shouldn’t. Milo has done great with the other dogs in his foster home. He enjoys playing with them and has responded well when another dog lets him know he’s getting a little too excited. He’s learning how to read those boundaries and has shown that he can take correction well. He’s also a smart boy who has made great progress with his manners. Milo has learned “sit” and “wait,” and he knows he’s supposed to wait at doors and for his food until he’s released. Now, will he occasionally see whether you’re actually going to make him follow those rules? Absolutely. Milo appreciates a household with management. His adventurous side does mean his future family needs to take security seriously. Milo can jump baby gates, has figured out how to open doors, and will take advantage of an unsecured yard if given the opportunity. He isn’t a dog who should be left outside unattended, and his forever home will need a secure yard and doors. Milo is fully potty trained and will even let you know he needs to go outside by crying. He can also do well in a crate once he has settled into his environment, although he needs a sturdy, heavy-duty crate rather than a wire or travel crate. He may cry initially while adjusting. His leash skills are still a work in progress. Milo understands walking on leash, but when that nose catches an interesting smell or he spots something he wants to investigate, enthusiasm can take over. He’ll benefit from a confident handler who can continue reinforcing the leash manners he’s already learning. Milo can also be sensitive to loud noises and experiences some anxiety. New environments may take him a little time to process, and his foster has watched him slowly decompress and realize that he is safe. He has only been in his foster home for about a month, and his personality continues to come out as he becomes more comfortable. Underneath those funny quirks is an incredibly sweet dog who loves people, enjoys other dogs, is house trained, loves enrichment, and has already shown how much he can learn with consistency. Milo isn’t looking for someone who expects perfection. He’s looking for someone who can give him security, structure, patience, and plenty of butt scratches. In return, you’ll get one lovable, curious, slightly nosy, happy-dancing boy who is going to make life a whole lot more entertaining. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Apply today! Hello, this is Peach! Unfortunately, I'm rehoming her due to my extra work hour requirements. Peach is super friendly with people, other pups and cats. She loves to play fetch and enjoy car rides. She has fairly high energy but is ok with just lounging and curling up. She does have separation anxiety if left for long periods of time. She is crate trained and knows basic commands. She would do really well with someone who works from home or a family.
