Story
Dolly is the kind of dog who makes life easy. She`s a gentle, loving senior girl looking for a home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by affection, daily walks, and a cozy place to rest.Don`t let her age fool you—Dolly may be 14, but she still has plenty of pep in her step! She absolutely loves her daily walks and could happily keep going for miles. She walks beautifully on leash when out with her people and truly enjoys exploring the neighborhood. One of Dolly`s favorite things in the world is being close to her humans. She`s a snuggler through and through and loves giving hugs. Whether you`re relaxing on the couch or winding down after a walk, Dolly is happiest curled up nearby, soaking up all the love and attention she can get.Dolly is fully house trained and sleeps soundly through the night in her own dog bed. She`s wonderfully calm and well-mannered in the home—she doesn`t bark unnecessarily, doesn`t jump on furniture unless invited, and takes treats with the gentlest touch. She absolutely adores people of all ages. Dolly is currently being fostered by an adult couple and regularly spends time with their active 6-year-old grandson. She has been incredibly patient, gentle, and affectionate with him, making her a wonderful companion for families who will treat her with the same kindness she gives so freely.Like many senior dogs, Dolly`s vision doesn`t seem to be quite what it once was. Because of this, she can become startled by unfamiliar dogs while on walks and may bark or pull if they get too close. Giving her a little extra space—such as crossing the street or politely asking other dog owners not to approach—is all she needs to feel comfortable. With thoughtful handling, walks remain one of her favorite activities.Dolly`s needs are refreshingly simple: a loving home, regular walks, soft places to nap, and people who will cherish her through her golden years. In return, she`ll give you unwavering companionship, endless snuggles, and the quiet, steady love that only a special dog like Dolly can offer.** Dolly is currently living in one of our amazing foster homes! Adopting from foster is easy. Just call 734-662-5585 or email adoptions@hshv.org to set up a visit today!
