Linda came to us Heartworm Positive and has received the injectable form of medication to treat her of the heartworms. It has been recommended by our veterinarian that she stay on monthly prevention and treatment for the rest of her life. Heartworms can and often do shorten the life span of our pets, however, with successful treatment she should enjoy a long happy life. Strict cage rest for a full 30 days after treatment is necessary to prevent further damage/stress to the heart. Cage rest ends on 10-7-26 . This means short 3-5-minute walks on leash for bathroom breaks, no free running/jumping for the entire 30 days. Her last day of medications is on 10-4-26. Linda will go home with 6 months of Tri-Heart free of charge, due on the 24th of every month (an additional 6 months may be purchased at time of adoption). She will need to be retested on/around 1-8-27 to confirm treatment was successful.

Brutis is an older guy that has heartworms. With his age it is not recommended that he receive the injectable form of medication to treat him of heartworms. It has been recommended by our veterinarian that he stay on monthly prevention and treatment for the rest of his life. Heartworms can and often do shorten the life span of our pets, however, she is a very happy guy and would love a family of his very own for the time he does have left. Brutis will come with a 6-month supply of Heartworm medication (an additional 6 months may be purchased at time of adoption). It is recommended that he be seen by a veterinarian regularly to monitor for any progression of the Heartworms. Your regular veterinarian may choose to change the treatment plan. I AM SPONSORED!
