Story
Meet Susie, a sweet and friendly beagle mix with a mellow charm. Although she can initially be a bit shy, Susie's independent spirit shines through once she warms up. She enjoys leisurely walks and is happy to spend quiet time by your side. Susie is ideal for someone who appreciates a gentle companion; she promises to bring a peaceful and loving presence into her forever home. If you're looking for a loyal friend who respects your space but is always there when you need her, Susie is the perfect match. Dogs are usually tested with other dogs their size, and we encourage meet-and-greets with your dog before adoption. Cat tests are available if requested, but they only check for clear aggression. Always be careful when introducing dogs to cats. Advice about dogs living with children is based on behavior like energy level and how the dog handles touch. Young children should never be left alone with dogs, and we cannot guarantee how any dog will behave with kids or other pets. Behavior seen in the shelter is just a snapshot and may change in a home. Dogs come from many backgrounds and may need training, time, and patience. Dogs should not be fed together unless you know they do not guard food. We also suggest learning about a dog's breed or mix to be sure it fits your family. Moving to a new home can be stressful for dogs. Use the Rule of 3 to help them adjust: First 3 days: Dogs may feel scared, tired, overexcited, or not want to eat. First 3 weeks: Dogs start learning routines and may show new behaviors. Keep things calm and avoid busy places. First 3 months: Dogs usually feel settled and more comfortable. Story
Meet MacGyver! MacGyver is a brown and white Beagle. He was born on 11/05/2015. MacGyver is good with cats and dogs. He also is a big old cuddle bug! MacGyver loves when you brush him, give him belly rubs, and of course snacks. We highly suggest Mac being an outdoor only door or have access to the outdoors at ALL TIMES since he does not strive being indoors. This old boy is a good walker and loves to play with he squeaky toys. He's and old and lazy dog what could be better than that? Potential adopters can complete their application at www.havenoftheozarks.org/adopt and come out to meet our pets any day between 9 AM - 4 PM. Email havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com with questions. Story
Hey there! I'm Bilbo! Nice to meet you! I decided to take a walk, and ended up here. My people never came to get me. That made me sad. But the humans here are pretty nice and like to take me for walks, which I love. They tell me that it's my turn for a family that will love me until the end. Don't get me wrong, I have lots of spirit left in these old bones! I'm a short guy that likes to know what's going on. I'm pretty nosey, lol. So if you think I'm the guy for you, give these humans a call. They know where I live.
