Hi, my name is Freckles and I'm about 4 years old.  I was a stray and rescued by a BCHS volunteer, and brought to Bond County Humane Society to find a loving permanent home.  I live with another FIV positive cat at the shelter. I am playful and like to chase bouncy balls. I like to get to know you before I want to be petted.  Of course, this is all on my terms.  I determine when and how long you can pet me.  I love to explore and look in all the nooks and crannies around the shelter. I am considered Special Needs for a couple reasons.  First, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus).  FIV is comparable to AIDS in people. It is transmitted to other cats by scratching or biting. There is not a vaccine available to provide immunity to other cats so I need to be the only cat in the household or live with other FIV positive cats. I can have a normal life expectancy of a cat. Hi, my name is Goldie   and I'm about 5 months old. My siblings and I were born to a feral mom. We were all trapped, spayed/neutered, and ear-tipped. Then because we were very friendly, my siblings and I were surrendered to Bond County Humane Society so we can find loving furever homes. I am a beautiful orange kitten. I love to climb the cat trees and play with my siblings. I am a little cautious at first, but then I like being picked up and petted. I start purring when you snuggle me. Hi, my name is Jossie and I'm 11 years old.  Me and my litter mates were surrendered to Bond County Humane Society for adoption because the people we lived with did not want us.  I am sociable and playful.  Before I came to live at BCHS I lived in a garage but I was well socialized with people and played with an 8 year old child.  I don't have any experience with dogs.  I like to play with toys, string, boxes or pretty much anything.  In 2017 I was diagnosed with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease).  In my case it affects my stomach, not my intestines.  Because my stomach is involved it causes me to have chronic vomiting.  My care for this condition includes food and medication.  In my case the food I tolerate best has fish as the protein, not any meat.  The other part of my care is supplemental injections under the skin of  B-12.  This is needed because my body is unable to absorb this vitamin.   I have done well on the maintenance program described.  I have been able to maintain a healthy weight.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and microchipped. My adoption fee is waived. If you are interested in adopting me please complete an adoption profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.    A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds or returns is available upon request. July 18, 2025, 2:46 pm
