The amazing humans at FLUFF have learned that much of this behavior comes from a lack of confidence, and I've already made great progress with consistent guidance and training. I'm searching for an experienced, dog-savvy adopter who understands that I need continued structure, patience, and training to help me become the very best version of myself. My adoption fee has been reduced so you can put those savings toward a training program and continue the work that's already helping me succeed. Bebop, an 7-8 year-old Havanese Maltese mix, is an independent and loyal companion who loves being close to his person after establishing a relationship. He did not have the best previous life so you will need a little patience while waiting for him to warm up/trust you. He enjoys lounging around the house, getting chin strokes and back scratches, and would prefer to be home with you, though he can be left alone for periods. While he isn't very playful with toys, he loves going on walks and is a great car rider. Bebop is treat-motivated, which makes him easy to adjust to new situations or surroundings. He does not get along with other dogs and will bark or growl if he sees them on walks, so he's best suited as the only dog in the home. Overall, Bebop is a laid-back dog who simply wants to relax by your side and get lots of love & treats. If kept on a strict potty break schedule, he is potty trained. Beet Root came to us after being found with a neck laceration. Thankfully, his injury has healed beautifully. However, many people ask about his purple coloring. No, he wasn't born that way, and no, he isn't secretly part eggplant. His finder sprayed a purple wound treatment on him, and that's where his unique look comes from! Beet Root is a dog who likes to do things on **Beet Root Time**. He came with a little spice and took about a week to fully trust his foster family. Once he decided they were worthy, though, he let them into his circle and has been steadily building confidence ever since. He's learning that humans can be pretty great—as long as they respect his boundaries. One important rule: **nothing on the butt!** Beet Root is not a fan of butt scratches and would appreciate everyone keeping their hands to themselves in that department. Underneath that spicy exterior is a sweet, affectionate boy with a loving and cuddly side. The fastest way to win him over? A game of fetch.
