🐾 BANDIT is a sweet senior boy whose owner found himself without a place to live or money for vetting and surrendered him to us. We got him fully vetted including neuter and microchip and his foster reports he is pretty much a perfect boy who's housetrained and gets along with everyone. Bandit loves a good cuddle - and he came to us 100% horrendously matted, but we got him shaved down (was necessary) and you can see his fur is finally started to grow back out into the little floof he is inside! He's 14 bs and 11 years old. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)

Story
Lucy was born around February 21, 2019 and weighs about 20 pounds.   Lucy and five other dogs were surrendered to us when their human needed surgery and was no longer able to care for them.  Lucy is very laid back and loves other dogs and her humans, including children.  Lucy rode well in the car on the two-hour trip to the rescue. Lucy has attended PetSmart events and does a fantastic job! She greets everyone with tail wags while asking for love and is content just sitting, watching the shoppers.  Lucy walks nicely on a leash. This is all we know so far, and we will be learning as we go, and so will you!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list.
