Story
Bruno is a young 2 year old playful, goofy boy!  He is good with other dogs, and he does love a belly rub and to be hugged by children....BUT because Bruno seems to guard the couch and bed,  yes the couch and bed lol.... we would recommend only older children, teenage even for him.  Bruno really is a great little boy, and his "new family" would need to work with him on his couch/bed issues :)   Other than that, he has been a love in his foster home. Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##1943276##

Story
Cristie is an adorable, senior Havanese mix pup. She is friendly with people and all other dogs. Cristie is a very easy going, happy, calm pup, who enjoys sitting on your lap, and getting a good cuddle. She is well behaved and rests quietly in her crate. Cristie ran some errands with her foster mom...and her tail was wagging the whole time! As we learn more about Cristie, we will update this bio. Be sure to complete an application on line and continue to monitor our website for updates. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
Meet Maxine! Maxine is a sweet 6.5-year-old Havanese girl. Maxine is a sweet lovable furball. She is definitely shy and a little skittish at first but warms up quickly. She loves to snuggle. Her barking is minimal as is her appetite. Maxine is still working on housetraining but we are confident that she will get better as she gets more comfortable, She gets along with other dogs, which is great! She is just learning how to walk on a leash and is quickly getting the hang of it. She loves to follow her people around, but Maxine is crated when her foster family is not around. If you are looking for a lovable sweet pup, Maxine is for you! Maxine is currently being fostered in the Lowest East Side in NYC and her adoption fee is $600. Maxine is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Kora! Kora is a 7 year old, 11 pound, Havanese who loves hanging with her people! Her superpowers include being brave in exploring her new world, and napping anywhere! She's still unsure about the loud noises, sudden movements, and busy streets when walking outside but were confident that with time and patience, she'll get used to it! Kora didn't have the easiest start to life, so she's still working on potty training and she takes a little while to get comfortable with her people and her surroundings. We're optimistic that once she realizes she's with her furever family -- she'll love giving cuddles and hanging with her people! Some of her favorite things are her toys and chews! She would do best in a home with pawrents who are patient and kind while she gets used to her new surroundings. If you're looking for the sweetest pup who just needs some love, Kora might be the girl for you! Kora is currently being fostered in Staten Island, New York. Her adoption fee is $600. Story
Meet Bunny! She is a six-year-old, 12.5-pound Havanese. Bunny is a lovely soul with a chocolate nose, lips, eyelids, paw pads, and the most stunning amber eyes that melt one's heart and soul. Bunny is a puppy mill rescue who has slowly begun to thrive and learn about the good life in foster care! Bunny tends to be shy and nervous around humans but is coming around. She is content to hang out watching TV with her humans as well as relaxing in her doggy pen when her humans are at work. She is trained to use wee wee pads and won't be a hassle during the winter when you can't take her for walks due to the weather! She also sleeps peacefully through the night without making a peep. Bunny is perfect in an apartment or home because she is not a noisy dog. Bunny enjoys bath time, following her furry foster sister around, plenty of snacks, chicken, and dental bones. Bunny enjoys lounging and observing the dynamics of the household. Bunny would thrive in a forever home filled with patience, love, and understanding. It would be even better if there were some friendly resident dogs to keep Bunny company but necessary! She will happily learn all the wonderful doggie ways of life that she didn't get to experience before, little by little, in her new loving home. Bunny is currently enjoying her time with her foster family in Staten Island, NY. Her adoption fee is $600. Bunny is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees.
