He is inquisitive and learns quickly. Mojo is friendly and enjoys being petted. Mojo could be an only dog or have another dog under 15 pounds in the home. Mojo sleeps happily in his foster parents' bedroom at night, sometimes in a dog bed by the bed and sometimes in a crate with an open door. He is perfectly housetrained, which is something that we can rarely promise! He does not jump up on furniture or climb steep steps, so the best home for him would be one where he does not have to navigate stairs. He is VERY quick and loves going on short brisk walks! Upon his first visit to the vet, they discovered he has a heart murmur and will be on Vetmedin for his entire life. This drug slows the progression of heart enlargement and produces a good quality of life. Mojo does not show any outward signs of heart disease, but whoever adopts him will have to be vigilant and watch for any possible progression of heart disease. Mojo will need to have a cardiac check-up yearly or sooner if he starts to exhibit any symptoms of heart disease. Whoever adopts him will need to be able to afford Vetmedin and regular heart check-ups. Heart disease is not uncommon in small dogs, so please read up on it and research the cost of Vetmedin. He is on a 1.25 mg tablet of Vetmedin 2 times/day. Mojo was asymptomatic before starting medication and continues to be so. His outlook is good with weight control and heart medications. Mojo will come with 2 bottles of Vetmedin. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be attached to the home, 4 feet or higher with gaps with no larger than 2 inches. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports.
