Story
If you’re looking for a loyal cuddle buddy who thinks humans are the best thing on earth, Tux might be your perfect match. Tux was born December 16, 2019 and came home with me on Valentine’s Day 2020. Just a few weeks later the world shut down for COVID, so he grew up during a time when we were together constantly. Because of that, he’s incredibly bonded to his person and loves being close to his humans. Tux is very smart, affectionate, and crate trained. He’s a big cuddler and happiest hanging out with his people, whether that’s relaxing on the couch or keeping you company around the house. He tends to love people even more than other dogs. Because he grew up during the pandemic, he’s very attached to his person and does best in a home where he gets lots of companionship. Tux is loving, loyal, and full of personality and will make an amazing companion for the right home.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Rescued, dumped by breeder. She was pregnant and gave birth to one little girl in our care. She is sweet, loving and enjoys her time in the yard to just take it all in. She is loving life now. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Heathcliff is a 1–2-year-old 9-pound neutered male Maltese/Havanese mix.  Neutered, current on all vaccines, heart worm negative, microchipped crate trained and working on house training. Heathcliff is still learning about the world and will need a family that understands the time, patience and commitment that comes with a young adult dog. This will include potty training, learning basic commands, regular exercise, and lots of play time in a backyard with a secure wooden fence. Heathcliff is very curious and likes toys so make sure you have lots of toys to help him grow into a well manner adult dog. Heathcliff would do best with a dog his size, age and energy level. He loves to play. His breed will need regular grooming.  He is an escape artist, and we need to be monitor closely when doors open and close. Heathcliff is a barker when playing and when left alone so an apartment lifestyle is not ideal for him.  If you are ready to welcome this sweet boy into your home and help him grow into the best dog, he can be, he would love to meet you. If you are interested in meeting Heathcliff please submit an adoption application.      Adoption fee is 275.00       We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Hello, my name is Heathcliff! I am a 3-year-old Maltese/Havanese mix weighing around 9 pounds, and I am looking for a family to call my own. I may be small, but I have a big personality and plenty of energy to keep life fun and exciting. I am a friendly, playful boy who loves toys and enjoys spending time with other dogs that are similar in size, age, and energy level. I am still learning about the world around me and will need a family that understands the time, patience, and commitment required to help a young dog continue to mature into a well-mannered companion. I am crate trained and working on my house training, but I will need consistency and positive reinforcement as I continue to learn. I enjoy playing, exploring, and staying active, so a securely fenced yard is important for my safety. I am also quite curious and have been known to be an escape artist, so my family will need to be careful when opening doors and gates. I can be vocal when I am playing or left alone, so I would likely do best in a home rather than an apartment setting. Because of my breed mix, I will also require regular grooming throughout my life to keep my coat healthy and looking its best. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination and annual vaccines, and heartworm negative. My adoption fee is $125. An approved online adoption application is required prior to all meet and greets and adoptions. If you are interested in making me a member of your family, please complete an application at: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Once your application has been reviewed, Rockwall Adoption Center staff will contact you regarding the next steps in the adoption process. I look forward to meeting my forever family!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. June 15, 2026, 8:13 pm
