Sweet boy dog! He is loyal and likes to be around his human. Have had him since he was a puppy, but too many responsibilities for me and not enough time for him. Looking for a great loving home for him.

Story
Addison is a cheerful and friendly young adult dog (probably a miniature poodle mix) who came to us after an accident. Her person could no longer care for her, and she`d been hit by a car, leaving her with a severely fractured left rear leg. We performed surgery to amputate her injured leg on 6/3/26. She has recovered beautifully and is back to walking, playing, and cuddling again. She doesn`t need any specific activity restrictions, though we recommend introducing her to new activities slowly so she can continue to build muscle and get used to doing things on just 3 legs. `Tri-pawed` dogs don`t need any sort of ongoing medical treatment, but lifestyle adjustments like keeping them trim through a healthy diet and consistent exercise can make a big difference in preventing joint pain and decreased mobility as they age. Addison`s adopter should anticipate discussing recommended lifestyle adjustments and care with their veterinarian. As a curly-haired dog, Addison will require regular grooming, so that expense should be considered before committing to taking this active girl home. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
