Himalayan kittens & cats in South Carolina

Lilly came to us after her loving owner, a dear friend of LCAR, passed away. We’re guessing she is a Himalayan mix, about 11 years old, and is currently in a medical foster, getting caught up on vaccinations, awaiting senior blood panel results and treating her feline ceremonious cystomatososis (ear cysts). FCC is a genetic condition causing benign, fluid-filled cysts that can block the ear canal. Our veterinarian has suggested trying to manage inflammation for now, since anesthesia for laser removal can be dangerous for senior cats. Lilly loves head scritches and to be brushed and doted upon, but doesn’t appreciate being held or carried for long. She loves napping in little cubbies and just enjoying her retirement most of the day. She is an easy cat, happy laying on the cool tile floor and making air biscuits with her huge paws. She will need eardrops and/or ear cleanings on a near daily basis to manage her FCC. She also needs daily brushing of her long, fine fur, which she does enjoy. Another maintenance issue with Lilly is that she tends to pee literally just outside the litter box. This is being easily managed with pee pads, as she is consistent with where she pees and has not had accidents anywhere else. She does poo inside the box. Lilly came into rescue with her son, Mags, and they are fond of each other but not bonded. They would do great if adopted together, but it certainly is not necessary. If the cat is under the age of 1 year old or has heath issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $125 . covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, FIV/FELV test and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend, so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. He is currently in a medical foster, getting caught up on vaccinations, awaiting senior blood panel results and treating his feline ceremonious cystomatososis (ear cysts). Mags is a fun, easy boy, loving attention from people, dogs or other cats and will quietly outmaneuver other animals for pets. He loves head scritches, being brushed and making biscuits on your lap with his huge paws. He is confident and is starting to play in his foster home. He’s not thrilled about being held for long, but will follow you everywhere and loves company. Mags is currently on the thin side so is loving getting a little extra wet food. He currently weighs 8 1/2 lbs and is growing back his fur after having lots of matting shaved out. His FCC is fairly severe, and we are trying to figure out the best way to manage it, Mags also has a few cysts on his chin that don’t seem to bother him. He will need daily ear drops and/or cleaning to prevent infection/dirt buildup. He also will need daily brushing of his silky fur. Mags came into rescue with his mama, Lilly, who also has FCC, but not as severe. They get along great so it would be great to get adopted together, but they are not bonded, so it is certainly not necessary. UPDATE 10.2026: Blood panels came back to find that Mags is hyperthyroid. He is on daily medication that he will be on for the rest of his life, but is still on a regular diet at this point. His weight is stable, and his appetite is healthy! He can be vocal and would like to be wherever his person is. We tried him out on a harness in the pet store and he explored confidently, showing a particular fondness for the fluffy beds! Mags loves his mama, Lilly, and would love to get adopted with her, but it is not necessary.
