Story
Papi Chulo's rescue began when a concerned community member found him wandering in Jarrell and believed his large belly indicated pregnancy. When we met him, we quickly realized the truth: the "belly" was actually over three pounds of severely matted fur, impacted with feces and restricting his movement. He was not microchipped, and despite efforts to locate an owner, no one came forward. As we worked to clean him up, we discovered he was actually a young, unaltered male Himalayan who had clearly been neglected. He was underweight, anemic from a severe flea infestation, suffering from an eye infection, and had a painful abdominal lump consistent with an old injury. A nearby neighbor later shared that he had been living outdoors for months with little shelter or care. Since entering rescue, Papi Chulo has flourished. His flea infestation and infections have been treated, his abdominal injury has improved. He has proven to be a resilient little survivor. After everything he's endured in his young life, Papi Chulo is now looking forward to the future he deserves- one filled with safety, comfort, and unconditional love. Papi Chulo has already endured more in his short life than any animal should, and because of that, we are committed to finding him an exceptionally thoughtful placement. His future family will need to understand that adoption is not about asking Papi to fit into their lifestyle- it is about creating an environment where he feels safe, respected, and secure on his own terms. While Papi is undeniably beautiful and receives inquiries almost daily, his appearance is only one small part of who he is. He is not a lap cat, nor is he the type of companion who seeks constant attention or physical affection. He does not enjoy being picked up or carried, and while he has never shown aggression, he is clear about his preference for personal space. He occasionally chooses to sleep at the foot of the bed, but more often he is happiest relaxing nearby rather than directly on top of his people. Papi is best described as a quiet, independent companion. He enjoys observing the world around him, appreciates a gentle chin scratch when offered on his terms, and thrives when allowed to move at his own pace. Because of this, he would likely do best in a calm adult home or one with older, cat-savvy children who can respect his boundaries. For the right person, Papi will be the perfect cat. But families seeking a highly social, affectionate cat may find that he is not the best match. What Papi needs most is someone who will love him exactly as he is- a resilient survivor with a gentle spirit, a strong sense of self, and a deep appreciation for the comfort of having a safe place to simply be.

Story
Meet Willow! Born April 15th as a bright eyed, sweet little baby that loves to play (especially in the morning when she gets the zoomies!). Her mom is half himalayan and half doll face persian, we're unsure who the father is. She has beautiful eyes and medium-long fur down her back that makes her look like a little ridgeback porcupine when she fluffs up. She's very sweet but also playful. She love to hide under things and then do sneak attacks. She grew up in a litter of 5 kittens with kids in the house so is used to being handled and very good and gentle with her claws. She has a brother that looks just like her named Bean who's an absolute doll! We call them the twins. It would be great if they could be adopted together but we understand that's not ideal for everyone. We hope you'll love her as much as we do!
