Since not all of our pets come into the store each day, adoption meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment.   Spayed/Neuiterd, micro chipped, heartworm negative (if of age), dhpp shots, kennel cough vacs., and one year rabies is completed.  Adoption fee is $350.00  We are NOT a first-come-first to adopt a rescue, the best fit for the family and dog is the way we do things.  We do out of town adoptions often, but will not ship animals must come to Redding for pick up.   ##2533806##

If you are seriously interested in an animal, we ask that you first fill out an application, tailsofrescue.org  This will be the first step to gaining more information about the animal as well as allow us to know a little bit about you.  Not all dogs come into the store each day so please start with an application.   Meet Gecko  Gecko’s story is one of survival, love, and second chances. This brave mama was live-trapped after she kept sneaking into a chicken coop for fresh dinners — and just a week after arriving at the shelter, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies in April 2025.    We don’t know much about her past, but we do know this: Gecko is incredibly loyal once she trusts you. She’s slow to warm up at first, but once she’s yours, she’s all in. She enjoys going for walks, rides calmly in the car, and is house trained when she goes out with other dogs.   Gecko weighs about 37 pounds and would do best in a calm, understanding home — one without small children, cats, or livestock.
